Found this place on the internet. We needed a place to stay near the A42 to break a journey. Nice place, good beer, good food, and friendly staff. Accommodation was more than adequate. Breakfast in the morning was served with a smile, and very good.

I went to the Harding Arms yesterday following a family funeral. There were about 20 of us and the welcome we received was warm and friendly. A room was made available for us and food was supplied. The spread was fabulous, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They could not have done more for us. We sat till about...

We were visiting our family to meet our new Grand daughter. We decided to give them space at their home and to book locally for two nights. We took recommendations from Trip Advisor and booked The Hardinge Arms. The owners were most welcoming, the converted stable bedroom with en suite was beautifully decorated and totally immaculate. The evening meal and...

Stayed here when attending an event at Donington Park circuit. Had a fabulous meal in the very busy restaurant (booking advisable) where my gluten free needs were catered for, then retired to our lovely courtyard room for a very comfortable nights sleep. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast before heading to Donington Park which is only about a...

Recently moved back into the area and thought we'd give this a try for food & drinks as our new local...and it's excellent! The owners and staff there are warm and welcoming and the food is excellent. I can heartily recommend the steaks!!! The beer is well kept and there's a good selection. Can't wait to try the Newton Wonder...

On our visit to this establishment the welcome we received was far from warm in fact quite off handed. We were told that we would have to wait as we were 10 minutes late and the table we had reserved was given to another customer . When i asked to speak to the manageress, i was told that she was...

Thank you for your comments on our food and our waitress, which we will relay to the staff. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the whole experience, however, we can't remember your visit, or the situation you describe, and we have never used the word "Tardiness" nor would Carolyn refer to herself as the "Manageress". We may have seated a table...

Booked for just one night and stayed in a room in an out building. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Very friendly landlord and wife. Good breakfast and overall felt it was good value for money. Unable to comment on food (apart from breakfast) or drink as we were eating elsewhere. Beware it is about 10minute walk from Melbourne town centre...

thank you for your review, we hope you will be able to stay again and perhaps dine with us next time. We are actually in the village of Kings Newton which as you say is just on the out skirts of Melbourne , but this does help to make us a little quieter. We are well situated for Melbourne, Donnington...

This old traditional pub has a modern feel; it serves proper beer, a variety of wines and fantastic food all at very reasonable prices. There was a choice of traditional pub grub and an à la carte menu so they cater for all tastes. We also stayed at the pub, the rooms were across the court yard which were converted...
