We ordered from the Golden Years menu which had a comprehensive & varied choice. We were a group of friends who went for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The service was good & the food tasty & nicely presented.

We enjoyed an excellent meal. We celebrating my wife's birthday. The food was superb. The service from the young man and young lady was brilliant although they were clearly busy. Will happily recommend and will return. Rarely say that when we eat out these days !

Stopped by here for a pint and a meal whilst passing through the area. Lovely meals and a good pint of real ale. I had the hunters chicken and it was very well done, my partner had the quiche special and was very happy. We thought the atmosphere in the pub spoke volumes, several locals and plenty of chatter made...

We stopped at this lovely place for a meal. Being gluten and lactose intolerant I was very impressed on the service and the detailed knowledge of their menu. I had the hunters chicken, not being able to have the cheese or the bbq sauce it was adapted for my diet by adding some lovely spices which resulted in a very...

We arrived on spec at about 5.45 on Saturday 12th of March all other pub/restaurants nearby fully booked, i enquired if they had a table for four, the barman duly consulted their bookings, and found us a table even though they were very busy, not long after this time. My son and i had an excellent steak, my wife had...

Lovely place and I think the new people are really trying- the service was lovely and ambience was perfect. But the food was a real let down- very hard veg and tasteless food for the price. And the real ales poor. Blonde session ale really needed here. Will try again but needs to up its game to survive

New management hasn't changed the friendliness of this little, easy to reach, gem. The menu is varied and the banter is great fun. The Food was hot and tasty and huge portions. It's very busy but the food was fresh. We popped back with friends, the other evening after 9. The dynamics change and it's a good old fashioned friendly...

I have passed this inn on numberless occasions when travelling to and from Matlock but have never had the opportunity to pay the place a visit. I rectified this yesterday. The inn calls itself "Inn and Country Kitchen" and, as such, one should expect a little more than a 'bang it in the microwave' establishment, which, indeed it is not....

Had lunch here today, and chose from the 'Two Mains for £11:95 Menu'. I had tuna fishcakes which were excellent. We shared the bread and olives to start, they were really tasty. Great atmosphere, the music made it very relaxing. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Real ales were spot on, and served at the perfect temperature. I would describe...
