Went here last night the happy hour 5 til 7 was a nice little surprise. The bar has oodles of character and the landlord is a very friendly guy. He told me how he came to run the place and told me about all the little features and history of the building. I would recommend this place very highly.

Only popped in for few drinks. We don't live in the area and a bit unsure of going in. But nothing at all to be concerned about bar staff were great welcoming and lovely. There were a fair locals there along with Nottingham University students all smiled and acknowledged us. It was a really friendly place. Will definitely return. Great... More

Called in with my wife for a drink, staff friendly enough but crowd of men at the bar badly behaved swearing and generally creating a bad atmosphere. Judging by the landlords reaction they were locals. I am not a prude but this is not a pleasant environment for a quiet drink, especially for couples. We moved on and spent an... More

Visited the pub for a few drinks. The staff are really friendly, there is a great range of ales, and the prices are spot on. It's a proper local too. We had a great night and will definitely be back when we're in the area.

This is the sort of place to stay in if your budget is limited and you are not planning to spend time in the accommodation, just sleep. There are facilities for storing and heating your own food or take-away, but no meals are served on the premises. I thought the room size was very good and having a shared kitchen,... More
