All staff were welcoming, friendly and highly professional. We spent two nights in a quiet comfortable bed room at the rear of the hotel. All the required amenities were readily available but mobile coverage in the area is a bit 'iffy.' The George offers good value-for-money overall. The walnut and raisin bread served with cheeses in the evening and the... More

We stayed attend George hotel for four nights Monday-Friday. When we arrived we where given our room 21 which is one of the basement rooms so was nice and cool as we chose the week for the hottest July on record. Room was very clean and Decor was nice. We did not eat in the hotel as we liked the... More

This is a lovely presented historic hotel in the centre of Hathersage. The room quality is high standard with all the four/five star inclusions such as Gilcrist and Soames toiletries. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and Eric, the hotel owner, made evening greetings to guests which was a nice touch. There was an excellent choice... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning and end of a long 6 day circular walk. We have stayed here a couple of times in the past taking advantage of their special offers (the Sunday night package is particularly good), so we knew the rooms would be comfortable with all the facilities you would expect from a £180... This hotel is positioned on the main road through Hatthersage. It has ample free parking in a secure car park to the rear. We received a warm welcome from the receptionist and the check in was smooth. We were shown to our room and given a tour of amenities before being left to unpack. The hotel is central to places... We have just enjoyed four days at this hotel in the Derbyshire Peak District. The staff were particularly helpful and willing at all times. The atmosphere was congenial with a small number of guests all of whom seemed to be enjoying the visit. The food was superb. We had special requirements and after explaining our needs a special menu was... More

Excellent food, excellent service, room very good. Even during a cool early June stay bedroom was far too warm, a problem in 9/10 of hotels in my limited experience. Needs a new mattress (far too soft and my wife and i both sank in to the middle). Would highly recommend to anyone. Mind you, it isn't cheap

This hotel was perfect for what I wanted. The location is beautiful, and the ambience is lovely. The staff in both the hotel and restaurant were friendly and attentive. I had booked a single but was upgraded, and the room was exceptional. When I opened the windows I could hear birds singing and a babbling brook :) The bed was... More

I booked two nights at the George and the hotel exceeded my expectation. I was in a single room and the room was lovely. The bathroom was high quality and clearly quite new. There were some lovely finishing touches such as high quality soap in the bathroom and a range of teas served with a tea cup - not a... More
