We were staying in the area and liked the look of this hotel. We booked for dinner. On arrival we were seated in the bar/ lounge area and given a menu and ordered drinks. The menu was limited with 2 courses set price £ 29.95 p.p. + 5% service charge. We chose a main and dessert. For the price we...

Not been here for a long while as, on our last visit, it had not been good. However, I am pleased to report that it is now very good indeed. The dining room is nicely situated and my wife and I thought the food and service excellent and reasonably priced.

Lovely hotel in the Peak District, great location, helpful staff, spacious well furnished rooms. A real treat, we will definitely return. A great base for Chatsworth House or walking the peaks. Really can't say anything negative, which is saying something for a Hotel in the UK.

Friendly staff, super clean, very comfortable bed, beautiful food, quality toiletries, interesting art and books around the rooms, easy parking, what more could you ask for? The hotel printed off a range of walks in the area for us. The atmosphere in the lounge area is lovely and relaxing. We were celebrating a special anniversary and this was a real...

We stayed in a beautiful room with a four poster bed. The room was huge. The view was on to the road but there was no road noise. The food was lovely, we ate fairly late but it wasn't a problem and unusually for eating late the staff weren't grumpy at all

The team at The George, led by general manager James Fair, hosted my daughter's wedding reception ( wedding breakfast and evening reception) on 15 August 2015. Throughout the planning in the months running up to the wedding James was always there and always helpful, organising every tiny detail to make sure the day was really perfect. Absolutely consummate professionals! We...

Our room was comfortable and had everthing we needed. We ate in the restaurant the first night. The food was spendid. Everything was cooked to perfection and was reasonably priced for such great food. The only regret was not eating the there the second night of our stay. The service was great and the staff very helpful.

We stayed here for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were welcoming and friendly even phoning a week or so before we arrived to warn us that there was a wedding function at the hotel and explaining which rooms were likely to be quietest. We stayed in room one which was spacious and very clean. We...
