Thank you so much for everything you did to make our very sad day better. You treated us with care and kindness and accepted all our requests with gentleness and respect. The buffet was amazing and every one praised the food..especially the renowned chips and incredible desserts. Thank you Lee and your team for yesterday. Archy would have been impressed. It was even more poignant that Windy Harbour was where we celebrated our wedding reception in 1978. Thank you once again, Gill and Rachel Xxx

Prior to booking online i rang windy harbour to confirm bookings etc and see if they were operating due to pandemic. I was politely informed that the dates we were after were available however they stated that they had functions on as a pre warning incase there was any noise. I felt this honesty was brilliant as they could have quite easily let us just book and find out for ourselves. However we could barely hear anything. The rooms whilst small were extremely comfortable and well maintained. Great views and the rooms stocked well with essentials. We decided to go out for a meal one evening so we asked the owner lee who went above and beyond to help us find the best place to eat. He suggested places that he would go himself and to give us this information speaks volumes as again, he could have just fobbed us off with any old place and let us get on our way. From start to finish Lee and the staff were very friendly, patient and informative. They always had time for everyone staying there and did their utmost to make us all feel welcome. The bar was surprisingly cheap and stocked with a great range of drinks. And as a bit of a whiskey connoisseur i was pleasantly surprised to see many single malts. Upon our sad departure my wife forgot her earrings. So i emailed the owner again requesting that if anyone found them could they let us know and we would arrange postage for them. Not long after i emailed i had a response stating they had found them, and sent them. Recorded delivery at their cost. Again, above and beyond expectations. Highly recommended in all ways. Truly a remarkable place. Great location, great staff. A win!!!!!!

We attended as part of a function. The wait staff were extremely rude. The food had hairs in two separate dishes. The prawns were clearly plated the night before as the salad was limp. The pate was tasteless. The beef was really fatty and all vegetables were grey as they had been so overcooked. Really disappointing.

Just back from a four day break at Windy Harbour. It was the perfect base for a walking and sightseeing tour of the High peak area. The hotel is very clean and felt Covid safe. Rooms are not fancy or especially large but comfortably appointed and bed was comfy. All usual in-room facilities such as tea/coffee and small TV. However the views from rooms on the north side of the hotel (and the garden) are just fabulous. Lee and his team provided excellent service (nothing was too much bother) and the meals were particularly high-quality. I wouldn’t hesitate to return for any leisure or business trip in the area.

We've just spent a lovely two night stay and we'll definitely be back. We had a friendly welcome right from the start - Lee and his team were great and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is in an excellent location with wonderful views. The food was really good and well presented and everything was Covid friendly. The room, number 10, was clean and comfortable, but a little tight for space and maybe in need of a touch up in a few places. This is an old building and the stairs to the rooms are very steep. It was very hot and we had to leave the windows opens, so there was a bit of road noise, but not a problem. Overall, this hotel deserves every success and we're looking forward to a return visit. Thanks once again Lee, we'll see you again soon! Bill and Jane.
