My husband and I were staying near the area and went for a drive and come across this lovely looking pub so call in and we both said what a great looking real pub it was the price was no dearer than any other pubs apart from weatherspoons and the food prices were about average for a pub staff were...

Live locally but not eaten here in years. Walked to pub and met friends from Sheffield. Slight glitch as I had booked a table over the phone but no record of my reservation but no matter as it wasn't a busy night and plenty of free tables. Two roast beef dinner, very nice, one lasagne and a rib eye steak,...

Stayed here for three nights at Easter 2017 with my wife. It is in a wonderful spot, surrounded by the beautiful Peak District countryside and perfect for walkers/ramblers. The room we had wasn't the largest I've ever stayed in but it was perfectly big enough, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food is very good and there is plenty of...

Stayed for 2 nights with friend for walking weekend. Accommodating staff and good food evening and breakfast. Essentially this is a pub with rooms, nice comfy small rooms with en suite. Coffee and tea making equipment with home made biscuits, small TV. Quiet at night. Evening meal available up to 9pm good choice and very good full English breakfast. A...

On entering our room, it seemed a little cell-like. Four very small windows, a little bigger then arrow slits. None of them would open. There is a skylight window, and it wasn't raining, so....fine. To be honest, you don't need to see out anyway, just views of car parks all around. Despite being told they offered vegetarian breakfast, this turned...

I had dined here before and enjoyed a good steak and good service. This time six of us were celebrating a friends retirement . On arrival we were greeted with "you have to order drinks at the bar" OK I can live with that in a "pub" but I wasn't expectinga pub meal. We sat down and chose meals. When...

Booked this hotel as it was near a walk we wanted to do. Picked it as it was late at night and the hotel had online booking. Rooms look like they have been refurbished recently and to a good standard. Comfy beds, Shower looked a bit dated but water pressure was nice and high so it did the job. Breakfast...

We stopped in for lunch on Easter Monday. The car park was nearly full but there were plenty of tables available. Good beer. There's a good choice on the menu and our food came quickly, even though there were several large groups in the pub which often slows things down. We both had the chilli, good well cooked food and...

We arrived early and able to get into our room straight away which was great, lovely little room, (12) handy to have a door leading to outside area, room was clean and lots of nice little touches, although very cheap toilet roll. Plenty of tea and coffee biscuits etc. Great location for walking. Atmosphere in bar/snug area was lovely and...
