I have stayed overnight here before, the staff are so friendly, rooms are spotless and I was made to feel very welcome. The evening meal was as lovely as ever. On previous occasions I have stayed on my own and always made to feel comfortable.

Dear Guest Thank you for submitting a review following your recent stay at the hotel. As I understand, you requested assistance from a member of staff as your heating did not appear to be working. As that member of staff could not get the heating to work either, and from investigations it has since transpired that one of the heating...

Booked 2 superior king size rooms. Rooms were immaculate and newly refurbished. The bed was very comfortable and everything was finished to a high standard. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The only thing that let this down was the rooms are not in the building itself and when...

Visited for a two day course held at hotel, although I didn't stay over in hotel. Staff were generally welcoming and helpful keeping refreshments replenished throughout the day. Lunch was wonderful and nicely presented... The soup was fantastic and much better than other food I have had at similar events. Plenty of parking, and convenient to get to. Elements of...

I recently stayed in this hotel for business purposes. The hotel location is great for walking and views, but there are areas that need some tender loving care. I stayed in room 25 which is located in the annex across the way from the main restaurant and bar area. The room was clean and tidy warm and quiet. The issues...

My wife and I dined here on Wednesday 2nd November for the first time for a couple of years. Things are much improved with a more extensive menu (well-priced too) and very friendly staff. It was a cold night but the conservatory was well heated and very comfortable. I had the black pudding with chorizo and a poached egg as...

The Melbreak is ideally sited for Workington and Whitehaven and gives a great view of all of the Lake District's north western fells. I've stayed here a number of times and have found the staff to be variable from very friendly and helpful to downright brusque, depending on who is behind the desk. The majority of the rooms have all...

Dear Guest Thank you for your review following your most recent stay at the hotel - I hope I can adequately address some of the points you have raised? Had an excellent stay here for a 3 night work trip. The room was very nice, the food excellent (especially if you enjoy a hot chilli!) and the staff were very helpful and friendly!! Will definatley stay here again if I'm in the area.

Stayed here overnight whilst on business trip. A warm welcome from staff who directed us to our rooms. The room was clean but did have dated pine furniture. Dear Guest Thank you very much for your recent review and glad to hear, that on the whole, you enjoyed your stay.
