Stayed one night booked family room which required updating luckily as they had a wedding on in the function room we were upgraded to the newer converted barn wing at no extra cost which was a very smart room. full breakfast was very nice and staff very pleasant. Well worth a try if you book the barn rooms.

Popped in to have a meal with the family. Food ok a bit pricey but good sized portions. Put off slightly by the noise from the regulars in the bar watching the racing, jumping up every now and then to place bets on the bars phone.

Stayed for one night and did not eat in the restaurant so my comments are simply related to what we experienced. Room was ok - nice and clean, bed was comfy but shower was not really a shower. The merest dribble of water was all that was possible in the otherwise large shower area. Wifi was not working at all....

We stayed one night whilst cycling Hadrian's Wall Cycleway. There appeared to be no one on reception when we arrived but someone standing nearby looked after us after I asked if he could help us. We were shown to our room - follow the sign for the toilets and straight on - didn't look promising. The room was odd. A...
