Incredibly clean, great bath robes and bathrooms. Good food, most of which is grown on site. We even locked our keys in the car and both Dave and Caroline pitched in with tools and assistance until we'd sorted it out. Lovely people, lovely location and lovely accommodation.

We stayed at Beech House to attend the small holding course which Caroline & Dave offer - and could not have chosen better. The course was tailored to us - informal and relaxed but we learnt more in 2 days than we could have hoped for! The small holding and grounds are beautifully kept, as is the B&B. The house... More

Very welcoming hosts, great attention to detail for thier guests. Lovely garden with wild flower meadows, vigorous vegetables and well cared for animals. Great breakfast, especially good as they had made it gluten free for me, even had gluten free black pudding...a first for me.

Caroline was great, lovely room and most importantly nice bedding and decent pillows and mattress. Breakfast was perfect, all in all one of the best B&B experience I've had. Will be using Beech House as my base for all future trips in the area - if there's space that is

Really enjoyed the two-night stay with my girlfriend. The master suite was grand with its own sitting area and a huge bathroom with spa bath. There was a hot tub that was an added bonus! The hosts were delightful and welcoming..the produce for the tasty breakfast was from the small-holding they have. The village was so tranquil and peaceful and... More

Stayed at Beech House for 2 nights. Just wonderful in all regards. Warm welcome, beautiful home, fabulous decor, cosy lounge, tasteful breakfast area (not to mention the wonderful array of breakfast goodies..their own produce), master suite with everything you could need including a seating area & large en-suite. Take the time to have a look around the small-holding, ask questions,... More

The owners of this B&B appear to have a simple philosophy; 'treat guests as we would like to be treated; offer them what we would want' - and, surprise, surprise, it works. Beech House is a beautiful home in a quintissential North Cumbrian village, overlooking a lovely village green at the front and fields at the back. David & Caroline's... More

We had an excellent stay at Beech House on our way to the busier part of the Lake District. I came across it on the internet by chance but the great description, photos and reviews can't really do it justice until you experience it! It has so much going for it: a peaceful quaint but handy location, beautiful accommodation (sitting... More

Just arrived home after staying at Beech House, I was working in the area. Excellent place to stay. Caroline and Dave made me very welcome, nothing was to much trouble. Although I only have a light breakfast there was plenty of choice. The room I stayed in was en-suite, very comfortable, warm and spacious. Will definately return next time I... More

My family and I have just arrived back from staying at Beech House. I don't normally bother to write reviews but decided as Beech House has so few it deserves more. For me what made our weekend away special was the hospitality that Caroline and Dave bestowed upon us. Some of the things that either Dave or Caroline accommodated for... More
