This hotel is so hard to review as I'm not sure what it's trying to be. It is beautifully decorated and very tasteful. However our room was not good. It was small but the bathroom was the thing that really let it down. It was only a metre wide with shower one end and wc the other and had a...

Two night consecutive stay, mid-week, last week of April 2017. Hope you are not booked into single Rm.#6. This room has a HORRIBLE chemical smell. It got no better during my stay. This room should go un-rented until that stink is resolved. If not, the door should be nailed shut! Of course I asked & was told no other room...

Over priced. No car parking close by. No disabled access Not suitable for the elderly or infirm. Restaurant not open on Mondays. Some nice pubs in the village. One way system makes it hard to get parked. The budist temple is a fab place to visit. You can spend hours looking over the grounds getting involved in the free meditation...

I stayed for one night as I was attending an event down the road. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The bed was very comfortable and the room really well equipped. Breakfast was served in a lovely dining room. Perfect location for pubs and a great Indian restaurant. A super stay.

Virginia House is located on one of the few high streets in Ulverston. You might walk right past it unless you are careful. It is one of the nicest small hotels and restaurants we have ever stayed in. The first floor room looks out over a little garden where the families children may be playing. The owners treat guests as...

I stayed in this family run hotel for 3 nights on a business trip to Cumbria. I arrived about 10pm after a very long journey but I was welcomed and made to feel at home right away. The room was airy and well furnished with everything you could want. The bed was really comfortable [and I don't sleep well in...

I stayed here for 3 nights on business, and it was a lovely hotel with lovely staff. Upon arrival late at night there was someone to show me to my lovely room. It had clearly just been revamped and it was very nice indeed. The breakfasts were great, and really set me up for the day. The only thing to...

Stayed here a couple of times for business travel. First time l stayed was in a single bed room which l found very cozy. Second time was in a double room which was fine, just a little nippy. I didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner unfortunately, l did have breakfast and found the cooked menu a little limited. Excellent...

We stayed here a couple of times a few years back when it was a small hotel. It was lovely. Now that it is a restaurant with rooms, as described in their information, we would not return. We were on the 1st floor, with two easy staggered flights of stairs, just above the bar and restaurant, with I think the...
