We were recommended to Candlewyck by our friends, who joined us for an overnight to celebrate a special birthday. We were welcomed by Kevin who made us very welcome. We settled into the yellow room, which was fantastically comfortable, with the best mattress I have ever slept on. We had a great night's sleep. The room is beautifully furnished with... More

Booked when cancellation at hospice came up for our son. Lucky to have secured the barn. Much needed peace and quiet needed and we were not disappointed. Sam you were amazing. Breakfasts wonderful although by second morning we realised we didn't need to eat everything on the table but such a shame to waste any!!! Room gorgeous, lovely comfy bed... More

We stayed here because of the reviews on trip advisor. We arrived a little apprehensive because it sounded to good to be true. However it says what it does on the tin. On our arrival, slightly later than planned , Kevin met us with a warm welcome. We stayed in the main house, the room was beautiful, light and airy,... More

Booked this to stay over for one night when we went to South Lakes Zoo in April 2014. Stayed in the Barn, a converted room upstairs with its own outside entrance and separate from the main B&B. Room was fantastic, fittings and furnishings were top quality, views from the room were amazing. The staff were great and couldn't have been... More

A haven of luxury on the edge of Ulverston. My girlfriend and I have stopped over here a few times whilst exploring the area on our bikes. Quiet, but easy access to the town for pie and pint after a hard day in the saddle. Leave the window open, listen to the birds and loose yourself here for a few... More

I've stayed at in the Barn on business on many occasions and also for a weekend with my wife . It is a loverly, well equipped, spacious, bright and airy room in a separate block from the house. It is on the edge of the beautiful town of Ulverston with picturesque views of local hills and livestock but only a... More

We received an exceptionally warm welcome to this very high quality B&B quietly located on the outskirts on Ulverston but within easy walking of the Town Centre with good shopping and lots of pubs and restaurants. Off street parking, Local walking in lovely surroundings and good as a touring base for the Lakes area. Highly recommended.

My wife & I stayed for 2 nights in May 2014. We stayed in The Barn accommodation which is reached up a flight of stairs, just a few yards from main house. On entering as I trailed with the luggage I heard a loud "Wow" from my wife! The Barn is an extremely spacious room, light and airy, has setee/sofa... More
