We stayed here as we were going to Cartmel Races. The hotel is very welcoming and the staff can not do enough to help you. We had a meal in the restaurant one night and it was top class. The view from the hotel is amazing and the area is great for walking. Highly recommended! Thank you.

We walked the Ulverston Canal, the deepest, widest and straightest canal in the UK. It is one and a half miles long and the Bay Horse at Canal Foot is a great place to rest up after such exertion!! (Any excuse for a pint). Nice couple running the pub and the beer was good. Great views sat outside across the...

Came based on recommendations. Very disappointed. My husband put the olive oil dressing on his salad to discover a fly in it. Put the salad back. No apology at all. The medium rare steak came medium. On the upside, the liver pate starter was lovely and the venison nice but at £60 for 2 it was poor. The management was...

We have been coming to the Lakes for years and have only recently discovered this place thanks to the in-laws stumbling across it a few weeks ago (it cannot be confirmed if they were sober or not). We parked the car in Booths (whether you are allowed to do this is another matter) and turned left towards Ulverston Town Centre...

I would absolutely recommend this little hotel for eating and staying. Thoroughly enjoyed it, visited Cartmel races while staying here was advised to take the train from Ulverston station...

There are lots of positives for this hotel. Charming location. Friendly and attentive staff. Great breakfasts including homemade jams. Well appointed room. Good beer. The evening lite bites menu was tasty, filling and decent value for money. We didn't eat from the main restaurant menu because it was a bit pricy. But if it was anything like the breakfasts it...

Came here today for afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends. It was the best afternoon tea we have had. The selection of all food provided was excellent, plentiful, very varied and beautifully presented. Copious amounts of tea and coffee provided by very attentive and friendly staff. All enjoyed in the conservatory with beautiful views over...
