We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Dalesman, the service from both the bar-staff and waiting on staff was quick and friendly. The food was delicious, with portions a little on the large size. Nice pub atmosphere, seating slightly cramped getting in but overall very good.

Nice quaint room in the roof. (Low ceilings) Comfortable and clean. Can be a little noisy at weekends if it is warm and window may have to be opened. Meals are good if a little expensive. Breakfast is poor more like a child’s portion. Overall nice but not value for money. Parking is a short walk aray in public Car...

Great food with local ingredients. Beef from local farm. Helpful staff. Great value. Refreshing local beer, especially following an exhausting 18 mile (!!!) walk. Would not recommend the accommodation, although great breakfast.

This pub is in a lovely setting and is very warm and cosy inside. Thought has obviously been put into the interiors. I must say the Manager was very accomodating in finding us a table with what was a last minute decision to visit the pub. When arrived the pub was very busy which is what you would expect for...

I booked a table for 5 for Mothers Day and I can honestly say the place has the worst Customer service I have ever had the misfortune to be at the end of. The lady in charge of the restaurant was argumentative, rude and verging on the abusive, along side her were 2 very young inexperienced girls and a man...

Wandered into this pub in the hope of a quick pub meal. It is lovely inside - big log fire, lots of different areas for tables and chairs, oak beams and a very friendly feeling. Although we were not immediately greeted by the staff, we asked about a table and although they were busy we were told they could fit...

Very friendly landlady and staff, we got a free permit for the nearby car park which allowed us to spend the day we were in Sedbergh parked up and were able to use it until 2pm the following day as well. The room was very cosy and warm, the food in the restaurant was delicious, as was the breakfast. The...

Been coming to the Yorkshire Dales for over 30 years and have been in this country pub many times and seen many changes. Its always a friendly pub with locals and walkers and visitors to Sedbergh. I have enjoyed some nice meals over the years and was going to try their lunchtime menu after a 6 mile hike of the...

Quick meal out was required after a day of driving and house clearing. First visit to the Dalesman in Sedbergh for quite a few years, and what a good visit. Nice nenu with plenty of choice but not too much! Shared a starter of ham, cheese and blackpudding croquette - gorgeous! Then followed with a sheperd's pie with red cabbage...

The Dalesman is very warm and welcoming. A big log fire greets you as you enter. We arrived early as we wanted to walk. Staff were very helpful and took care of our bags until the room was ready. We unpacked and then left the car on the nearby car park.(Voucher provided by the Dalesman) Our room (4) was lovely....
