Stopped by for a brunch. Lovely hidden spot, cozy and museum like environment, friendly and welcoming staff. The menu is amazing, huge selection of very tasty food, was very hard to choose, all of the dishes are very tempting.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the lady behind the bar and the three other customers there. My two friends arrived shortly after and we chose our lunch from a very extensive menu. The food was hot and freshly cooked when it arrived but it did take a long time and there was no-one else waiting...

Stayed in room 5 and it was a very crammed box room with no windows. There was 2 sky lights which were dirty inside. There was a front switch which was loose and dangerous. Trying to get out the double bed was a struggle and was crammed in a space. The bathroom is old and needs updating with mould on...

Gorgeous little place, the pub was full of character and you could tell no expense had been spared. The food menu and the staff were great. We thought wow for a last minute stay we had hit lucky with this one, until we got to the bedroom. Tiny was an understatement and a massive letdown in comparison to what we...

We took my Canadian cousin and her husband on a chilly snowy walk on the Howgills and knew where to go to warm up ! We were warmly welcomed, introduced to the fantastic new brunch menu available until 2pm and enjoyed choosing our meals. Our Canadian friends were delighted with the beer, and pulling a pint, a glass of blueberry...

Just stayed 2 nights as part of their 2 for £80 deal. Rooms in the pub were full so they booked us in to the cottage just down the road. The bedroom is tiny with just enough room for a very slim person to negotiate the gap between the end of the bed. No room for any bedside tables either....

Stayed at the inn for a few nights and it was really cosy. The rooms were really nice with a huge bed (we stayed in room 2). The food was really nice breakfast was continental but it was more than enough cereal, fruit and toast and the evening meal was really nice too and on the large side. There is...

Stayed here for two nights with my 20-year old lad when we were on a boys' own road-trip to the lakes, and arrived there mid-afternoon after a thrilling drive from Ambleside. Was lucky and booked two nights for £100 (or £80 if you booked the smaller rooms) as part of a January/February promotion. We had Room No. 2 which is...

The Dalesman Inn offers all you need if you are working or walking in the local area. Don't go for the cheaper single room though. It would be worth paying a little more to get away from the noisy (all night) over-heated (when it was -6 outside) tiny little space. Yes, I stayed in it, but that doesn't detract from...
