We visited with our two dogs over the bank holiday. We arrived later on in the day and in the dark. The bar and restaurant had closed,we walked round the other local pubs but we bought crisps in the pennington bar. We didn't think until we went to the room we could have ordered room service. We woke up the... More

We booked here a couple of weeks before travel, needing somewhere we could just walk quiet coast and beach and stay in a small hotel - in August! We were able to take advantage of their 3 night bargain break, and it proved very good value. As the forecast was for very wet weather, our only grumble was the lack... More

Stayed recently in The Pennington for a business visit to the area. The hotel is well appointed and has nice clean contemporary decor inside - wasn't what I was expecting from looking at it from outside and other hotels could learn from this. Only grumbles were the wifi isn't great in some rooms and the breakfast was a little slow.... More

This hotel is such a comfortable , clean and friendly place to stay . Unfortunately we were only able to stay for one night, but had a wonderful view over the estuary from room 7. The rooms are well sized with a large and airy bathroom. Breakfast was very busy but very friendly service and we can't wait to return!

You'll realise what our title means when you see it. Excellent standard, we only had a few drinks in the bar (non-guests welcome). Very clean and well maintained, old building with maybe 60's interior and wonderful views of the estuary.

We stayed here for a weekend break and we were gutted that we hadn't brought our little dog. The Pennington is on the main street which consists literally of 3 or 4 B&Bs and a handful of private cottages. Our dog is frightened of traffic and so we avoid taking her to places unless we are sure of the traffic... More

Stopped at The Pennington for a meal as was close to where we were staying on holiday. Great service. We sat in very comfortable chairs with cushions in the bar area. Food served well and looked very appealing. Tasted superb! Great service from all staff we saw, very friendly.

We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of June. We arrived on a sunny afternoon with the fabulous Sarah on reception who helped us in with our suitcases. In fact, we saw a lot of Sarah - in the bar and also as our waitress at dinner and at breakfast the next day. Later on she helped us... More

Stayed here for a night whilst wending our way through Cumbria after spending time in Scotland. We chose the hotel because it was dog friendly and indeed this was the case and our four legged friends (and us) were all made very welcome. We dined and breakfasted in the bar so the dogs could be with us and it served... More
