Great hotel, value for money, we paid for half board, well worth it. Food very good and restaurant service, credit to all staff waiting on, very efficient. Rooms clean, not luxuriously, but your not paying for that, all essentials provided. Cleaners in daily, all staff friendly. First time in the Lakes for us, great base to see surrounding area/attractions, will...

I'll be honest with you, the photos didn't really do it for me, it was very 70s looking but would suffice. I was very pleasantly surprised though, the rooms are basic but the service is like nothing else, great food, super efficient staff and all at a very reasonable cost. Tie this in with the most dramatic view when you...

We had a family room at the front of the hotel. It had a double and single bed. The room was very clean and comfortable. Not a lot of hanging space if there were three people. More than happy with what we had as on motor bike so not dressing up a lot. The hotel has entertainment on a Tuesday...

Just had a five day break at the Patterdale. As usual the hotel and food was great, very friendly staff and comfortable room. We had great weather - no rain!! - just right for walking and relaxing. We will be back.

Had a five day bargain break at this hotel set in dramatic surroundings. Accomodation and food was very good with plenty of choice. The waiting staff, all Eastern European, were excellent. If you're a walker this is a great place to explore. If you're not there is a bus route from Kendal to Windermere taking you up to Kirkstone Pass...

Popped into the Patterdale hotel last night for a quick pint whilst walking back to my campsite. I took my pint outside to take in the superb views, after a few minutes a member of staff approached me calling me Steve, as my name is not Steve I was confused. The staff member then realised his mistake and said that...

I've stayed here several times over the last few years. Great location for walking as there are routes to suit all abilities from the door. Clean, comfortable rooms. Good food and helpful staff. Excellent value short breaks if you sign up to the Choice Hotels Rewards scheme. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

This was our second visit and whilst we still haven't managed to get that view we did have a good stay. We parked in the car park opposite again as there was plenty of room there and the receptionist gave us the pass so we didn't get the pay and display charge. He was very welcoming and friendly. We sat...

Stayed at The Patterdale again in May, took friends who had not been to that part of the lakes before. Again, a fabulous stay. Comfortable rooms, clean and excellent food with plenty of choice. Staff who have been there many years goes to show what a good manager Jonathan is. Would definitely recommend it. Cannot fault it.
