This review is for the coffee shop. A beautiful outside seating area. Inside is beautifully decorated. Fridge has very enticing cakes as well as lovely looking salads, fish & meats. We had Millionaires Shortcake & a Chill Mousse slice. They where beautiful presented & tasted delicious. Staff friendly & formative about products.
From arrival the staff were always pleasant, not in your face, but efficient. Standard of hotel was very good and clean. Meals in the restaurant were very good too with a reasonable choice too. Close to the lakes - great for a few days exploring and walking. Would definitely stay there again if vising the area.
Just returned from a weekend in the woodland pods. Absolutely stunning and located in a prime location. The staff could not be more helpful and the pods had everything you could need. The hot tub was ready when we arrived and there was the full use of hotel facilities. Could not have had a better weekend
My husband, son and I stopped for two nights whilst I was participating in The Lap. Staff couldn’t have been more thoughtful. Yes the building is a little tired in places but it is building of it’s time. This is more than made up for by the wonderful staff.
Me, my Wife and our Dog stayed here for 1 night. Hotel and staff were ok, we had two complaints which ruined our stay. The location of the room and the restaurant service. The room itself was not too bad but very hot, so the window and curtain needed to be open, however this overlooked busy run down static caravans were everyone had a clear view into our room. For £136 a night you expect better than this. We booked into the restaurant for 19:45, advised to book later to not clash with a bigger party at 19:00. Sat down in Restaurant and offered water at 19:45, food order wasn't taken until 20:30, then at 21:30 still no sign of any food. We asked for the food to be delivered to our room, eventually it arrived at 21:50. As our only night was ruined by slow service I cant rate this hotel high despite not having any other real complaints.…
Due to the hotel we had booked (Hampsfell House) closing we were offered the same break at this sister hotel. We were not sure what to expect as we take our dog with us and liked the location of the other hotel we had booked. When we got to the hotel and checked in we were offered an upgrade to a cabin with a hot tub. We were not disappointed It was amazing and had everything we needed. All the staff from reception, to waiting staff and housekeeping were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We were given directions for a lovely walk just across from the hotel. The hotel is on a busy road so you do need a car to get around, but the location is ideal for Windermere and Grange over Sands and many others. Breakfast was served buffet style but had everything you would want and it was all hot and tasty. We also had an evening meal which again was really good. We will hopefully go back to Hampsfell when they reopen it but we will also definitely be back here, maybe this Christmas for my husbands 60th!!!…
Attended a family wedding here. The staff at the hotel are all amazing and nothing is too much. The hotel itself is a little tired in a few places this is due to the age of the building which cannot be helped. I have a food allergy and this was accommodated well and I felt safe which meant I could relax and enjoy the event. The grand children had a whale of a time running around the gardens without getting into trouble and annoying others, they used the pool facilities the next morning. I would highly recommend this hotel for a break, it has easy access to the southern lakes and the Furness peninsula.
Just got back from the newby bridge Hotel and had a lovely stay, very dog friendly, the staff there were Just amazing, so lovely, nothing too much trouble and very chatty, we had breakfast and evening meals both nights and the food was exceptional, room was lovely, very clean and well equipped with everything you need down to an iron and ironing board! Beautiful views from the bar and restaurant, I would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again soon, thankyou again to the wonderful staff who make the newby bridge well worth coming back too!
Fabulous food and service 1st class . We visited last night . We booked for 19.15 . Greeted from a lovely lady and took to our table .Beautiful surroundings snd food amazing . We didn’t actually stay at the hotel just ate here . The 2 waitresses were amazing and nothing was to much ( I didn’t get their names unfortunately) . Will definitely visit again. .
My wife and I had a lovely 3 day dinner B and B stay at this hotel. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. On arrival we were shown several rooms as the original room booked for us was no longer available, we ended up taking a standard room over looking the gardens which was perfect. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent and the bar and lounge were lovely places to relax in and chat to other guests especially when the fires were lit. What made our stay extra special was the friendly and accommodating team of staff, they rectified small matters that were brought to their attention happily accepting this as a recommendation rather than a criticism. The last couple of years have been extremely difficult for business but this one has come back running! We will hopefully be returning with our family probably staying in the pods which look lovely and are well appointed. All in all we had a good customer experience.…
