Stayed for one night as a special treat. Had always wanted to stay at the hotel and have previously been for spa days and afternoon teas and always enjoyed it. I couldn't fault anything about the hotel & the service and food were fantastic. I am looking forward to staying there again.

Room in the old building overlooking the lake was elegantly styled and suitable for the age of the property. Excellent service throughout which sets it apart from every other hotel I stayed in for business in the UK. They were able to balance the requirement of our business group as well as groups of tourists and individual walkers. A beautiful...

My partner and I attended the lakeside hotel and spa for a spa day which included afternoon tea. We were met by a lovely young gentleman who's name I do not know, he led us into the conservatory area, sat us down and made us feel welcomed. He showed us around, talked about what to expect and set the day...

Lakeside is the only Aveda destination spa in England, offering a complete range of facial and body treatments to purify, nourish and revitalise. Our Luxury Spa days combine dining in our Conservatory by the lake shore, surrounded by the sublime views Windermere.

Two years since our last visit and another wonderful stay. The food was excellent evening and morning; the staff were wonderful and the room was lovely. This is my favourite winter hotel. Warm, cosy and friendly. A real escape. And it has the best bar in the world!

We booked a lake view suite the day before as a last minute treat and were delighted with our decision. On arrival, we were able to park at the front door and walk straight through to check in and a tour of the hotel facilities. Meanwhile, a helpful member of staff was parking our car for us, bringing the keys...

Complimentary valet parking is part of the 4 star+ service the Reception team at Lakeside offer. Of course Windermere Lake Cruises depart from our front door, giving you the opportunity to discover Bowness and Ambleside from the Lake… and abandon your car for a while.

My wife took me for a birthday surprise and I did not want to leave. The setting is truly idyllic on the banks of Lake Windermere. The spa is wonderful. Extremely calming. The restaurant is fabulous. Excellent food. Even breakfast is that little bit more special. I'll say it again. I genuinely did not want to leave.

I booked The Oak Room for 30 family and friends for my wife's special birthday and took the opportunity to stop over 2 nights with my wife and 2 boys in a family room, even although we only live 15 minutes away! Our First stay at Lakeside definitely won't be the last. From a welcoming smile and a lovely warm welcome followed by a guided tour from reception we knew the Lakeside would be something special. The 17m pool at Lakeside is very unique in that it is exclusively for the use of hotel residents and spa guests. So with no local membership, it is a great place to enjoy a large hotel swimming pool which overlooks Lake Windermere.

We stayed just one night, on a rare weekend off. Our room was very clean and comfortable, I found the bed a bit soft but the pillows were good. The bathroom was a little tired, and to be honest more of a b&b standard than a luxury hotel, but clean and bright. It's an old building, so lots of creaks...

Just home from my third time at this hotel. It stands proud on the lake edge making it a perfect relaxing location listening to nothing but the lake and the birds. We stayed in the Grizedale Suite, it was simply stunning!!! For the three of it it was perfect and it had the wow factor when we walked in. We...
