It is advertised as luxury bed and breakfast and we weren't disappointed. The lounge and dining room are both beautifully decorated, with an open fire burning each room. The bedrooms are named after their primary colour and also decorated and furnished to a high standard. Breakfast was super delicious and our hosts did everything possible to ensure we had an... This isn't a B&B its an experience. From the complimentary home made cakes and tea served between 4pm and 6pm through to settling down for a glass of wine with the hosts in the evening, you really feel like you are in a "four weddings and a funeral" movie. Alison and Bernard are great hosts and I cannot recommend this... More

Alison and Bernard are perfect hosts and their home is just magnificent in every respect, decorated in the most wonderful way and with a lost of taste. We very much enjoyed Bernard's delicious home-made cake upon arrival, laid in the sun in their beautiful garden. We stayed in the Yellow Room which is a true gem, the bathroom is a... More

What a fantastic find Broomlands was! The house is beautiful, with rooms to match & the host's Alison and Bernard were just perfect. We were spoiled from the second we got there until the second we left! I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a stay in a hotel or B&B more, nor have I eaten a better breakfast... More

Bernard and Alison were the perfect hosts, they welcomed us to Broomlands and made our stay very special. The house with gorgeous log fires (even in August), the rooms, the food and the hospitality were all exceptional. Very very highly recommended.

Allison and Bernard welcomed us warmly to Broomlands B&B, their home that they have made into an outstanding B&B in the small village of Lorton near Keswick. The location, which does require driving on some narrow roads, is quiet and well away from the buses of Windermere, etc., but it's close enough to make touring easy. We stayed five nights... More

I have a serious personal problem. “Ew!” I hear you cry; “too much information!” But no, dear review-reader, quite the opposite. You need more! If you’re reading this, then chances are that you’ve already read my review of Broomlands from just a year ago. (The Bernard & Alison Show, 22nd June 2014). If you haven’t, please read it soon. Exceeded expectations in all departments. Alison and Bernard are wonderful hosts. Breakfast is a feast and all of us had way too much lemon drizzle cake at tea time. The house is full of beautiful antiques and furniture and set in the idyllic location of Lorton. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Alison and Bernard were very welcoming hosts who went above and beyond what was expected. The food was fantastic and the accommodation itself was luxurious - we highly recommend the yellow room. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
