A great four nights at the Brook House, where the wet weather didn't dampen our spirits. This is the fourth or fifth stay for us, as the family room is great value and the in-laws stayed in the room opposite. Fabulous food, a lovely welcome and stunning walks from the doorstep. Looking forward to next year!
We visited for lunch after a good walk up to Blea Tarn. We had mussels from the specials menu, and a crispy cod wrap. Both were delicious. Excellent service from the four staff members who served us. We sat outside as it was a nice day but plenty of room inside if needed.
As a regular visitor for about 25 years I’d like to compliment Brook House for the way they have adapted so well to the current COVID-19 regulations. All guests were made to feel relaxed and comfortable and most of all safe. Despite a slightly reduced menu there was plenty of choice with something for all tastes and food delicious as always. The preordered breakfast system worked very well too. A huge thank you to you all!
Set in beautiful surroundings and ideal for high, medium and low level walks. Super families running the Inn and staff also excellent. Their drying room is large - a real plus in the Lakes!! Bedrooms vary so best to obtain details over the phone. There a 4 on each of 2 floors.
Perfect after a good days walking. Family run and it shows. Been going here for years. Above all, charming people who seem to care. Cream teas seem to come with home made jam. Scones are as good as anywhere, gently warmed. Tea is good and strong. Yorkshire Tea made with Eskdale water. No better combination.
