There were 14 of us stayed at Stanley House for the weekend and it was fab! The bedrooms were all comfortable and the noise minimal. It is equipped with a great kitchen and dining area, which was ideal for cooking and eating the evening meal on the first night. There are also 2 dishwashers! It was great to sit in... More

Good location in Eskdale, easy to find, as on side of road. Good sized rooms, most being en-suite. There were 24 of us, several generations. We self-catered, kitchen facilities adequate. Dining area large enough for us all. Owners were able to supply trestle tables so we could all eat at one table. Cinema room kept the younger ones happy. Great... More

4 generations of family descended on the house and we all had a great time. The house is in a fabulous quiet location and better still limited mobile signal so we all got peace and quiet from work, PPI calls and insurance claims. The house is intimate yet still spacious with room for everybody to eat together, sit together but... More

We drove up from Suffolk, having a bit of an arduous drive but eventually arrived at the Woolpack about 2pm knowing that the rooms weren't quite ready as the other family in our party was already having lunch there having arrived an hour earlier. A spot of late lunch for us and we were taken back to Stanley House and... More

I am a tourist from India and I planned to go to the Lake District during the weekend. I checked a couple of b&bs and though Stanley house was a good option. The hotel was lovely and the double room was excellent with good view. There was a huge backyard and a small river flowing behind it. The steam train... More

We arrived at Stanley House after making ourselves known at the Woolpack up the road which we discovered is owned by the same people. The staff were so friendly and welcoming they could not do enough to help us have an enjoyable stay. Offers of lifts, suggested walks, lovely food, set in amazing surroundings, Stanley House is a little gem.... More

I was booked into this hotel for 30 sep 2015 but never made it. After a days walking, it got dark, about 7.30pm made my way to the hotel but was directed by the sat nav to go down what I later found out was the 'hardknott pass'... very dangerous single bendy road with twists and turns and not lit... We stayed in a family suite here as climbed Scarfell with our two kids. It's a great family friendly place with fabulous staff, spotless rooms and the ideal location. If you want a 5* spa break it's not for you but if you're a real person who wants genuine hospitality and happy children and views you can't buy, this place... More

I've always loved the lakes so stanley house seemed ideal, large enough to accommodate all of us, self catering, all bedrooms en suite, a large well equipped kitchen dining room and a cinema room, perfect!! Stanley House offers guests the ability to book out individual rooms OR book out the entire house. I booked out the whole of Stanley House for my husbands' 40th Birthday in October 2015. We have been up to the Lakes many times and I knew that the area would be perfect plus the house was big enough to accommodate our... More
