Had lunch in beer garden one day. Lovely place to sit as it was very warm. Lots of available tables. There are a couple of more comfortable seats which obviously were taken. Would benefit from more of these instead of the basic picnic tables. Had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich which was very tasty. Later in the week had an...

Ten of us went to the Royal Oak for a meal a couple of weeks ago. The pub was rowdy, service was slow, and with the exception of a prawn salad the food was overcooked. There was only two people waiting on, who worked their socks off and did their best, but the supply of food from the kitchen was...

Recently a party of us visited the Royal Oak for an evening meal. We were celebrating a special birthday and friends travelled specially to be there. We gave our order at 7.30pm, by 9pm we still had not received our meal. By this time we were getting very hungry and our patience was wearing a bit thin! The place was...

Popped in for food on a busy Friday night. Service was good and staff friendly. Good choice of food on the menu. Food arrived as described and well made. Portion size was huge however as a heads up to anyone thinking of visiting for food.

Having eaten and spent the previous night at the wonderful L'enclume anything was going to be an anticlimax........however we were pleasantly surprised by the Royal Oak, it turned out to be a no frills, good value place to stay in this delightful village! At £65.00 A night what's not to like? Room was clean and reasonably spacious. No Wifi or...

We got a lovely welcome from staff when we entered and were given a table beside the blazing fire. My daughter lives in Italy so ordered a glass of white Italian wine but, unfortunately, it was not good. She concluded that it was probably not The Royal Oak's fault as Italy tends to keep its best wines for itself and...

Went there as was listed as dog friendly, not quite as dog friendly as some others classed the same. We sat down and were asked to move to the rear of the bar as the new owner didn't want dogs sitting in that area. No water bowl and no doggy biscuits on offer, not really the dog friendly welcome I...

We stayed in the Royal Oak at new year 2016. A friendly warm welcome greeted us. Our room was clean and cosy. We spent New Year's Eve at the Kings Arms opposite the Royal Oak(both pubs are owned by same people) Yet another warm welcome from all the staff. The entertainment package was well worth it. The three course meal...
