The hotel is comfortable, elegant and full of character, so don't come if you're looking for a boutique hotel chain experience. Aynsome Manor is individualistic with comfortable lounges and bedrooms, a quaint bar and staff who are well-trained and really seem to want to help. The excellent food is an added bonus; the two dinners we had were superb with succulent meat, interesting cheeses and tasty desserts (and this from someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth).

We stayed here prior to a visit to Rogan & co. The hotel itself is situated in beautiful surroundings and Cartmel village is a 15 minute walk away through lovely countryside. It’s a tricky time to be in the hospitality trade because of the covid-19 restrictions but the management at Aynsome Manor are doing a great job. The rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean and everything is being sanitised religiously (even pens at reception are used once only before being sanitised). The hotel still feels homely and welcoming though, notwithstanding the extra precautions in place. The management team are lovely - so welcoming and helpful, and the manager had some great stories about the area. Breakfast was delicious - a really wide selection of items, all really well executed. I would really recommend this hotel for people looking for a quiet, relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

We loved this hotel. In all honesty, its not for party loving young things, but if you want : Peace and quiet Fantastic customer survive A perfect gentleman (the owner) who takes you back to to a bygone era of charm and service and a gentleness we all thought was way gone....you must stay here. Breakfast ...well it was perfect. We cant praise this hotel any more than my language skills dictate. But to repeat; its not for party going young things...thank God. I wish I knew the name of the wonderful gentleman that owns/runs the hotel He is wonder. In peaceful serene surroundings only a mile or two from Cartmel and Grange over Sands. Great place and we will be returning.

Aynsome Manor is a cosy country house hotel, set in large grounds, and only a short walk away from Cartmel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, helpfully locking our bikes away overnight. Breakfast and Dinner are both good. The location is very good for walking, cycling and sampling the gastronomy in Cartmel.

We stayed here ahead of a visit to L'Enclume and it was the perfect place to relax. Just outside the main centre of Cartmel, its set in amongst beautiful views and scenery; and is only a 15 min walk into Cartmel across the fields - a great treat on the sunny day we were there. The place was clean, COVID secure with all the necessary safeguards you'd expect in place. The team are brilliant - friendly and accommodating. While we didn't stay for dinner - which comes highly recommended - the breakfast options were varied and cooked well using local ingredients. Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.
