We had a spacious room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern, but let down by a weak shower. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly. A carafe of water in the room would have been welcome.

A real gem of a hotel. Everything about the hotel was first class: warm atmosphere, friendly , helpful staff and excellent food. Would highly recommend this hotel, great value for money. Although not officially in the National park is close to the Southern lakes.

Lovely friendly hotel in a beautiful location. My sister and I stayed here and went to L'Enclume in the evening. The hotel is 1.5 miles from the restaurant and easily walkable (just make sure you use the back lanes, the main road is treacherous to walk along) as long as you're not wearing evening shoes! The hotel has a list...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights In March 2017. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was delicious as was dinner with plenty to chose from together with an extensive wine list. Chris, the host, was attentive and friendly always ready to share some of the history of the house. The hotel is...

Stayed only one night but the stay was very memorable. Great country fell, rooms well layer out and again perfect country living. Staff were really helpful, polite and friendly. Sitting by the log fire the head waiter came and took our pre dinner drinks and our food order. Very relaxed. We were then taken into the restaurant which was fabulous....

My wife and I have stayed at this little country house hotel quite a few times now and we have never been disappointed. The hosts, Chris and Andrea, and their staff are friendly, welcoming and most obliging. The rooms are comfortable, full of character and well-maintained. The food is first class, especially the game dishes: not too pretentious, not too...

It's been a great stay. The atmosphere is full of charm and staff were excellent. David, the Maitre d',set the tone, great welcome. It was just a delightful few days. Talking to other guests, they have been going back for years, for very good reason. The food was really good and different every day.

The Ayesome manor is just north of the main village of Cartmel with lovely views back to the Priory and surrounding fells. The rooms are all nicely furnished and there is a small bar and large lounge where you can sit before or after your meal in front of a real fire. Dinner is served in the period dining room...

When we arrived at Aynsome Manor, we were made to feel most welcome and check-in was quick. The room was dated, as was the bathroom, which was also very cold. There was no radiator in the bathroom, only a towel rail which was switched off. I did switch it on, which was against my better judgement, as you could see...
