My wife and I spent about $18,000 for Nat’l Geographic’s England Coast to Coast hike. Our guides assured us that our accommodations were the best the route had to offer. Being in remote areas, most of our hotels were situated in hamlets. Rest assured this hotel is super clean with a friendly staff in a tranquil setting. You will find...

Our son's wedding reception was arranged at short notice to coincide with his grandmothers 100th birthday as he was coming from Memphis USA. The day went extremely smoothly. Very photogenic grounds. American visitors were enchanted The food was spot on and service excellent, the staff could not have been more helpful. The guests who stayed were delighted with their rooms...

Our first impression was welcoming with a lovely fire burning in the old fireplace in reception. We were pleasantly surprised by the huge bed and patio doors to garden with a beautiful view of gardens and hills beyond which disappointingly meant we could not have a window open at night. Toilet kept making noises at night but slept through this....

Came across this place by accident and stopped for lunch. We sat in a dining room on our own, round a lovely round table. Lunch was fabulous, a fixed price for 2 or 3 courses. Freshly cooked and plenty of it.

Very friendly and helpful staff at reception and in the restaurant. Our room was OK - tidy, clean and very pretty much up to date, but the shower was a bit grotty - luke warm and with lots of mildew on the ceiling. Bed was very soft and pillow a bit thick - would suit some people but was hard...

We stayed overnight for a friends wedding and booked a dog friendly room. The hotel staff were very welcoming especially to our four legged friend offering treats and a fuss. This hotel has charm and character it is not a modern faceless building where all rooms look the same. The grounds are lovely considering you are just off the main...

My friend had recently broken her foot which was a little difficult as no lift.decor has a lot of original features, but some areas could do with a bit of a face lift. Bedrooms very short on lighting.made rooms feel really dowdy. Bathrooms ok,taking into consideration...
