We stayed for two nights on a mid-week deal; dinner, bed and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is ideal for walkers (we went up Glaramara and Dalehead from the door and there are several more options). Our room was very comfortable. Super king size bed and a very nice bathroom. Everything spotlessly clean. Lovely views out onto fells....

The Langstrath is an ideal location if you want to stay in a quite hamlet and have an idle-ish weekend. Great food and good beer in a pretty unique area. There's many pub's and Inns in the lake district but few are in such tranquil area as Borrowdale. Booking went ahead with out issue via their automated booking system on...

Having taken park in the Four Pass challenge we were all in need of a good hearty meal. We found exactly this. The staff were very friendly and accommodating on what was a busy night for them. We were treated to some beautiful sun dried tomaotae bread while we picked out order. Our starters and mains were served in a...

My husband and I stayed here in September when we were walking the Coast-to-Coast trail. It is one of the best places we stayed while doing the walk. The accommodations are lovely, it is quiet, and the meals were outstanding. Very engaging service, too!

In good pub guide so, must try ,truly at the end of the road, interesting menu ,roaring fire, and homely atmosphere. Light lunch, Duck terrine and Avocado and Cray fish salad with a glass of Crabbies, all delicious Felt slightly guilty, rolling up by car, as this is obviously a fell walkers hostelry .

We popped into this lovely country pub for a light lunch after a long walk over the nearby fells. The staff were chatty and friendly, the log fire very welcoming. We ordered drinks and decided on a sandwich each, with a portion of chips to share. The sandwiches were delicious, 'doorstops' served with mixed salads and slaw, the portion of...

I stayed for 3 nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable time walking in the Borrowdale area. The room was very comfortable and the food was very very good and great value. They even do tasty packed lunches to take with you if you are walking. The only quibble would be the WiFi which was very flaky. It worked fine between...

Having met up with friends we hadn't seen for a long time we needed something to eat in Borrowdale. Found this lovely inn down a narrow road and although there were 6 of us they were happy to accommodate us. Looking at the menu we soon realised there was nothing gluten free that the coeliac in our party could eat....
