A group of 5 of us stayed at Knotts View at the start of November on a hiking trip. We got quite lost trying to find the guest house, mainly due to us leaving London very late and lack of operating sat nav! However the guest house owners were extremely kind and stayed up late to let us in! Very quaint guest...

Great place to stay. On route and next to the pub. Table booked on our behalf by the friendly owners. Very comfortable room. For us no TV or internet was fantastic. The perfect rest before the walk to Patterdale...

After a day walking in the rain. One would like to arrive to a nice, big en suite room. Sadly that was not the case. The rooms were too small for a couple. I only stayed there because, it was organised by a third party. I was sad to find out there was a hotel about one mile away and...

I stayed here on my 2nd day of coast-coast walk. I arrived around 5:30 pm after spending 8 hrs walking. This place is a little bit further on the trail which makes the next day that much less. There are no signs indicating where it is exactly. A friendly local pointed the way to me. The first thing I was...

This was the quintessential old English cottage, Our room for two was small but more than adequate, with its low ceiling and undulating floor. Facilities were spotless, and the breakfast room and sitting room with big old fireplace were warm and inviting. Our hostess was very helpful, especially on our rather late arrival after a lengthy walk from Ennerdale Bridge...

I'm surprised some people says their things were dried for them--no mention of this was made to me--had to leave wet boots in front hall all night so they were still soaking wet the next morning. Room very small, and no ensuite (although there was a sink in the room), no tv, and no wifi. Did have a nice view...

We stayed at this guest house on the C2C. The owner was friendly and cooked a nice breakfast. Our room looked out the back to a lovely cottage garden with hostas and delphiniums blooming. There are shared bathrooms on a communal hallway. The Langstrath Hotel is across the street and a nice place for supper. There is no wifi at...

The house is pretty and very well situated - very calm. The rooms were comfortable but rather small. The bathrooms are shared, but as there are plenty it was not a problem at all. We arrived very wet, and our boots stayed in an unheated hall so were still quite damp the next morning, which was a shame We had...

We arrived late and very wet yet were greeted warmly at the front door (with a little dry humor to even things out). Our wet items were whisked away for drying. The location seemed a little out of the way but this was only the second night of our C2C walk so I suspect it may well have been our...

A centuries old building lovingly renovated. Don't let the lack of en suite accommodation deter you -- the room had a sink and mirror and the toilets and showers were just a few steps down the carpeted hallway. We arrived exhausted at nearly 9 p.m. having gotten lost after climbing Loft Beck on the Coast to Coast, and it took...
