After a few attempts at visiting here we were finally able to take advantage of our Travelzoo deal and visit here in November. The house is really lovely with amazing views across the valley. When we arrived in the room it was freezing cold and the furniture was dated but it was nicely decorated and the en-suite was lovely with a powerful shower which was great after a long walk up catbells and over to Keswick the day after. Dinner was only included on the first evening but we enjoyed it so much we booked again for the second, the chef certainly deserves his Michelin recommendation. And whilst the bar was closed it was nice to enjoy drinks in front of the fire in the sitting room before dinner and finish our wine in there afterwards. Overall a very lovely stay if you’re looking for a quiet location to enjoy the nearby walks and great food. …
We stayed in this lovely hotel nestled amongst the Fells and Derwent Lake. It is set back from the road in attractive gardens where we had cream tea one afternoon. It's a really lovely setting and the interior of the hotel is very smart too. We stayed in Catbells Room which is large and has great views from both windows. Our stay was blissful and we were well looked after by staff. We had an evening meal included in our Travelzoo deal and the Hotel Manager and Chef went out of their way to make sure I could enjoy the meal (catering especially with my food intolerances in mind). The Dinner and Breakfast were great. We couldn't use the bar area but had drinks in the sitting room which was relaxing. We stayed two nights and were able to do two fell walks from the hotel. We hope to return to this lovely hotel once COVID restrictions are lifted.…
Quiet spot close to Keswick. Staff looked after us very well and catered very carefully to my wife’s dietary issues. The breakfasts were excellent and the dinners were gourmet presentations of very good food. Drying room available for wet boots! A really nice experience.
We spent 2 nights at Leatheshead hotel, a visit rearranged from March. We had a nice room with very comfortable bed & good shower in ensuite. All the staff were extremely helpful & the food was excellent, both at breakfast & dinner. Extensive & interesting wine list too! Would definitely recommend.
We paid bit extra for a deluxe double room and it was worth the extra. Most rooms seem to have double or twin beds. Not much room for king size. Beautiful views and en suite was great. Hotel was quiet, lots done to make it feel safe re COVID. Always someone about to answer questions. Large jugs of fresh milk to go with room drinks were given when asked. Breakfast was good and they should carry on with method of choosing and table service instead of buffet as they must save money and work. Very clean. Pity we couldn’t see the new bar.
