We bought 2 lake view room deals from secret escapes, it included breakfast, 3-course dinner and welcome tea and cake on arrival. It was £199 each room for 1night. To me, it was fantastic value for what we got. We arrived just before 6pm and there missed out on the tea and cake that finished at 5pm, however, we were...

Thank you for your review, I’m pleased overall you enjoyed all aspects. I’m sorry to hear you were disturbed by some of the wedding guests and we are looking at ways in which we can manage this. Due to our location we struggle with our Broadband service speed, I am working with our supplier to offer a speedier service and...

Let's start with the positives. The location is wonderful, our room overlooked the sheep field, the lake to the hills opposite. Couldn't get enough of the view. The grounds were a delight, manicured lawns, beautiful flowers and plentiful birdlife. The lounge bar, also wonderful. However, the included dinner was middle of the road at best. Obviously all pre-made and slapped...

I was reluctant to write a review about this hotel, as it was so good I did not want it to get too popular!! Rooms fabulous ,recently refurbished, cleaned impeccably, we had a lakeview suite it was fantastic. Staff unbelievable , the service was exceptional. It was death by food for the breakfast and evening meal, served quickly , hot...

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past. The standards generally throughout have deteriorated. The hotel has commanding views of the Borrowdale valley and the gardens and grounds are spacious and immaculate. Rooms are generally OK. Restaurant is average with a menu with a non inspiring choice. This is a dog friendly hotel and dogs dominate the...

Pleasant staff, good food & value for money, we also liked the well spaced table between diners. Our meal was inclusive with the room rate so menu is limited.

We are one of the many people who gave a very positive review of this hotel. Food & service was commendable. Our room looked over the lake and was clean with comfortable bed. There are many areas for walking but other than that there really is nothing else much to do. We did not get a chance to see the Falls...

Hotel was lovely. We couldn't fault it. We paid extra for a lake view room which was lovely but i probably wouldn't do it or suggest it as we just wasn't in the room enough. They were dog friendly. The service is first class, the food is briliant and the spa treatments were spot on...however that is where it ends. The hotel itself is in desperate need of modernising...and i mean that in every sense. If you enjoy busy floral old carpets, curtains and decor..this hotel is for you. Our room was an upgrade...doesnt bear thinking what we would...
