Stayed for one night on a Groupon deal and you could not fail to be impressed by the quality of the accommodation. I have eaten here many times over the last few years but this was our first stay. We were in Room 1 which had a lovely deep double bath with loads of hot water to fill it, which...

We stayed for one night in room 2 as we attended. Function at the hotel. Parking is outside and easy. We were welcomed warmly. Drinks were reasonably priced and the buffet was delicious. Room was good, quiet. Breakfast was excellent. No complaints at all and would stay again. Recommended!

We stayed here on a groupon voucher for two nights with breakfast.Check in was easy, we were shown to our room and left to settle in. The first thing I noticed that the room was quite chilly and realised the heating wasn't turned on.Once the heating was turned up the room warmed quite quickly. the room itself was spacious and...

Stayed here on the way to Newcastle. Felt welcoming from putting first foot in the door. Room was huge, very clean and well equipped. Restaurant menu looked uninspiring on paper but OUTSTANDING in appearance, taste , value and enjoyment. Breakfast was a great choice and cooked perfectly. Every member of staff was polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Completely relaxing, very enjoyable...

We stopped here with our children for tea and was greeted by friendly staff and a roaring fire. The food was excellent and service was great would definitely recommend and would go again. They even has a store room with some toys in for children to play with.

Arrived at Alston House on Friday evening, very warm welcome from the host. The room was enormous and well equipped e.g. teas, coffees, kettle, toiletries, hair dryer etc. Unfortunately, it was very wet and windy outside and the rain was coming in through one of the windows in our room, but there was nothing much that could be done apart...

We stayed with two of our small dogs for a couple of nights. The hotel itself is really nice and we had a spacious and spotlessly clean room, which had a view over the other side of the valley. We ate in on one night and I thought the menu was really nice and reasonably priced too. The food was...

Paid £119 for two nights two people and a dog including breakfast. Wowcher was £89, dog £20 and £10 surcharge which we weren't aware of at the time but was fine and well worth the money. Do eat at the restaurant. Lovely home made food and big portions. Good value for money. Beautiful village for walking. Lots of information provided...

Got a great bargain on groupon. The hotel is a lovely old building which has clearly been loved. The room was nice a clean. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was great. Good choice with a specials board. Good selection of wine. Breakfast was really good. Plenty of fresh fruit and a hearty fry up. Very...
