I was booked in here for a work trip by our travel department. A two day stay. The place is beautiful and would look ideal in a murder mystery setting! Turrets/Towers that kind of thing. Very Grand. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, very nice dining area, all very conservative (Margaret Thatcher Painting) and polo statues and paintings. The rooms...

We stayed here for a function which was nearby. Hotel is stunning, lots of big reception rooms. Pleasant staff also. Our room was fabulous. Huge room with sitting area and beautiful big bathroom. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was also delicious. We got a lot more for this hotel than we had expected and would definitely like to return

Wow, beautiful building and grounds much better than photos. Excellent customer service from our arrival to our departure. The staff were exemplary. The barman who lives in Northwich gave us information about places to visit. He kindly offered to bring drinks to our table. The Head waiter, if he isn't I am surprised, handsome English man, attentive and helpful. The...

This hotel has got the best staff I have ever met anywhere. I have travelled far and wide over the years and have honestly never met a friendlier, more helpful, professional group of people. Melvyn at the door, dapper in a suit and bowler hat is nothing short of a hidden national treasure! And Dale on the desk, is so...

Excellent full stop! Business lunch with a colleague, service was outstanding from the moment the concierge open the front door for me! Very attentive but in no way overbearing. Dining room was spacious, table of good size with plenty of space in between for some privacy! Table set to a high quality. Food was excellent, could not fault it. Fine...

Arrived for afternoon tea in run up to Christmas. Was met very warmly by doorman who was extremely attentive and helped to settle me in a lovely room whilst awaiting my guest. It was a special occasion for my friends birthday and had requested the special offer regular afternoon tea with glass of champagne on booking. Unfortunately after the special...

At 18 pounds per person it isn't the cheapest afternoon tea out there but your money gets you so much more than the delicious sandwiches, mouthwatering cakes and plethora of tea/coffee choices. A relaxing, warm atmosphere which is enough to get even the most hardened Christmas cynics right into the spirit of things. Do it - you won't regret it!

We stayed overnight before a working day in Hartford. Some reviews were rather down on a hotel which was old fashioned yet full of character. As for the staff, they couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. There was some confusion about free breakfast which was advertised on trip advisor. I would recommend that visitors check this out in advance,...

We stayed here for the weekend myself and my husband, staying in the Magnolia suite. From the minute we pulled into the entrance we were impressed. Lovely friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful autumnal grounds, abundant with birds and wildlife. The interior is very in keeping and our room was extremely spacious with stunning views of the gardens....
