Spent the morning recovering after a wedding here with the wedding party. Log fire. Coffee and biscuits. Just what was needed by everyone. Good service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to all.

My wife and I had visited the grounds around the house, as National Trust members, a number of years ago and looked wistfully at the hotel and could only have dreamt what a stay there would be like. Our 35th wedding anniversary last week was celebrated at Clivden and everything about the hotel surpassed all our expectations. We stayed in...

It is an experience to stay and eat in this spectacular hotel. One the house of the Astor family, it retained the style and glamour of the past, with all artifacts, amenities and furniture, making your stay extremely comfortable, enjoyable and pleasant. The hotel, belonging in the National Trust, is a beautiful building, lying in the shore of the River,...

Dear Alexander K Thank you for your kind comments and recommendation. We are very proud to work with the National Trust who look after the grounds of this magnificent mansion. The hotel has recently been refurbished bringing it back up to the standards the Astors would have expected in the grand old days. best wishes Kevin Brooke

Transports you to a different world- however plumbing in Club rooms needs attention, cold taps running scalding hot water and is an issue as the rooms have just opened after a serious refurbishment and breakfast was meagre for £21.00.

Dear 690cerim, Thank you for your review and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. I must apologize for the issues with our plumbing during your visit - all rectified now thank goodness. The refurbishment you mention is almost finished with just the Spa remaining and this should be completed by early June. Kind regards Kevin Brooke

Amazing house, interesting history and garden. Car park full at house so drove down to woodland car park and walked back to the house through beautiful glade of trees,no leaf but still gorgeous. Returned to car with walk along river for a different aspect. Worth a visit!

Dear marvy2013 We love our guests to enjoy the magnificent grounds that are so beautifully maintained by the National Trust. Maybe next time you could make a booking and enjoy a Full Afternoon Tea in the house to round off an excellent day. Best wishes Kevin Brooke

This was our third stay at this magnificent hotel - every visit just gets better and better. The hotel cleverly combines the grandeur of your surroundings with making you feel totally relaxed from the moment of arrival - warm welcome at the entrance and Reception with prompt and effortless check in. Previously we have stayed in 'Chinese' - small and...

I like hotels that are not converted hilltop forts, old cowsheds or other nonsense. Built for purpose hotel equals hotel. Image my surprise when I found myself outside the main entrance to Cliveden. I had walked the delightful grounds that lead down to the river several times and had more than one good whisper about the food. I was persuaded...

Dear SandyBeach76 Thank you for breaking your rules and staying at Cliveden - in a way you haven't - the Astors bought the house in 1893 and used it for entertaining the great and the good throughout the 20th century - in fact when, in 1985, Harold Macmillen, the former prime minister, was told Cliveden was becoming a hotel said...

One of the best serviced retreats for comfort , food and relaxing places. The staff and estate are rarely matched for the luxury and quality. Quality of service and care are of very high consistencies in every thing .
