Nestled in the heart of Beaconsfield, Crazy Bear Beaconsfield garners appreciation for its prime location. However, guests have experienced a divide in opinions, with some praising the hotel's uniqueness and cleanliness, while others express concerns over room conditions and inconsistent attention to detail. The eclectic atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with decor leaving some charmed and others underwhelmed.
Amenities generally meet expectations, but the lack of certain comforts has been noted. Service varies from commendable to disappointing, contributing to the prevalent view that the hotel may not offer value commensurate with its pricing.

We stayed in one of the decadent rooms which looked lovely on photos etc, but upon arriving the room is very dated and could do with a lot of improvements. The room also hadn’t been cleaned properly, particularly the leather floors which had sticky residue on them upon arriving (disgusting), and there were stray hairs on the floor or the shower.
Just didn’t feel like any care had been taken with the cleaning at all, which seriously needs to be addressed, in general but also for the price we paid for the room!!
One thing I can’t fault are the staff who were so helpful, very nice and were happy to help with anything!
We didn’t eat in the reasturant due to hearing bad reviews from friends and family, so we eat at Jampee Thai reasturant about 5 mins drive from crazy bear, which I couldn’t fault at all!!
It was nice to experience this once but I won’t be returning.

I have just returned from from 2 nights at the Crazy Bear, I was a little worried having read some of the recent poor reviews it has received but we didn't experience any of the issues that other reported.
The decadent room was large and spacious, it was clean and looked great, it had 2 TV's our only complaint with them is the fact the internet wasn't good enough for the TV's to be able to watch HD programs as it went blocky and froze, the internet strength for iPads or phone was fine.
The Crazy Bear classes it's self as a 5 star hotel, for the price we paid I would have expected tea and coffee making facilities in the room and also a minibar of fridge. Also there were only 2 hangers in the wardrobes but we were traveling light so not an issue.
On one occasion we were feeling peckish and purchased 2 packets of English Heritage truffle crisps, these can be purchased from Waitrose for £1.20/pack but The Crazy Bear charged us £11.35 for the 2 packets or £5.67/pack! EXTORTIONATE!
Cocktails by the pool were nice but they are about £18/£22 each so also very expensive for what you get.
The Breakfasts had a good choice on the menu but the portion sizes were a little on the small size especially the full English.
All the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful.
I am pleased to have stayed at the Crazy Bear as it is certainly an experience with he room decor and baths etc, it makes other hotels look dull and boring in comparison.

While we did like our room and enjoyed the bath. However The bath was a bit to close to the bed so very easy to get it wet. (Careful if there’s two of you in there) While the room on the surface was clean the wooden blinds were dusty the outside of the bath had smudges and you could tell hasn’t been whipped in a while. Also the ceilings had cobwebs. If you gonna have velvet on walls and ceilings you should vacuum them at least once a month While we didn’t mind the price tag of the room as we knew we was paying for the theme of the hotel and the gimmick it is one of those I been there done it won’t go back places.
The most disappointing was the food we had dinner at the Thai restaurant and the food has left us underwhelmed. We had vegetable spring rolls for starter which probably was the best part of the dinner they were good. And the satay chicken the sauce was a bit more creamier then we was expecting it and the chicken was dry. For mains we had the pad Thai which was the most flavourful thing we had that evening but the chicken was dry so that was untouched and only ate the noodles. I had the duck which had no flavour and was also very dry and we left more than half of it on a plate. Considering this was over 100 dinner o was expecting to have at least a decent meal but we left most of ours untouched and left hungry. So if you staying in the hotel i would recommend going out to dinner at a local restaurant. Part of me wished we just went pizza express that was across the road from the hotel would have enjoyed that more.

Stayed here for two nights in two different room types, both were dimly lit and whilst described as decadent left me reaching for the torch on my phone to check out cleanliness and to find anything I’d put down. I worried about cleanliness as nothing seemed to be subject to any management oversight. No tea bags, stirrers, shower body wash etc. which should be checked as a standard and led me to question overall standards. Fresh laundry for the room was bundled outside in the alley outside the room before 0930 when checkout was 1100 exposed to elements and any passing dog walkers!
We had to vacate our first room by 11 to move to our second room only to be told we couldn’t get into our second room till 3PM leaving us to move everything into our car and leave the hotel for the day despite paying £225 for the room.
Prices for everything were high with everything provided by staff attracting an additional 13.5% service charge (yes including breakfast items despite rate being for b&b)!!! These people should be wearing masks so at least you’re aware you’re being robbed.
Service at breakfast was poor with cereal, toast and hot food all being served at the same time and additional items we requested including coffee and sweeteners resulting in never seeing the server again after saying she’d “check” if they had any!!
This hotel is trying to be something it’s not and failing miserably.

The stay was supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable for my mums 50th birthday yet it has caused nothing but disappointment and stress.
When we arrived we were greeted, rooms are named different on website to groupon etc. Room was dirty, I will attach pictures dusty mirrors, blinds and rug was filthy! . Then I had a call to say they missed the champagne and if we could go and collect them when we were ready. When paying 300+ for a room and dinner you expect good service and high quality. I collected drinks and told them about the naming of room to which I was told the manager has now changed it on the website and does not match via groupon or wowcher (false advertisement).
We left the room as we thought we will go for a nice dinner, drinks etc. Got to the restaurant to which starters came first, I asked twice for drinks. Only 2 members of staff in restaurant you could clearly see they were understaffed lots of other people asking for drinks or starters to be taken etc. starters came, duck was like sausage meat almost blended? Squid gritty and inedible… not what you expect for a dinner that is supposed to be worth £100 as it states on groupon. Then asked for another round of drinks, which again I had to order twice. Then a lovely waitress who was called on upstairs as so understaffed dealt with our bill. We were charged for lobster and one round of drinks. We did not even eat our main as it was poor quality and not what you expect from a hotel / restaurant that you pay a lot for a one night stay!
When I asked if management had changed since I last visited I was replied to with yes, and it’s very obvious! I came in 2021 with my partner, had a lovely time. I bumped into a lady leaving the restaurant who told me she was a manager there too, I told her about the meal etc to which I had barely any response to. Also during the meal I told the waiter downstairs that the tap wasn't working in ladies to wash hands I had a very short and blunt reply, no customer service skills to show me where I could was my hands, bearing in mind I'm in a restaurant eating food!
After we went to pool for drinks, we sat roughly for 30 mins if not longer waiting for table service which we were told on arrival, as I've been before the service was fast and great last time when visiting. This time no one showed! We went back to our hotel room instead as absolutely appalled with the whole stay.
It was my mums special treat, we travelled 2 hrs to get there to have a shocking time. No one even mentioned her birthday even though it was in the notes for restaurant booking on special occasion.
Overall it was a bad combination of unclean room, false advertisement, poor / no customer service and bad quality food.
DO NOT GO, asked for refund no one has called me back which was promised, now calling today and no one answering the main landline. I wonder if they are going under?!?!

I had desperately wanted to go so booked a stay for our anniversary where I booked the most expensive suite. Requested a slightly earlier check in and asked for something nice in the room/what they offer as it was our anniversary. This message was ignored. Arrived to a very dark, tackier then pictured room which looked out onto the public road so the blinds had to remain somewhat closed, blinds which were broken. We then got ready for dinner in the dark...not ideal doing a face full of makeup in little light with a not much better situation in the bathroom. (The next morning I finished my makeup in the car.) Dinner at the Thai was nice but a rip off for shared starters which were small and nothing special. Mains were nice however. The best part of the whole experience was having a drink by the pool. A pool you can't use as everyone is eating and drinking around you so you'd need a lot of confidence to get in a bikini and it was freezing so definitely not heated. We headed back to our room, asked for a bottle of water on the way and were charged £5 plus service charge for bringing it even though I offered to wait and take it myself. The room had no tea/coffee, broken features and an annoying broken curtain for a bathroom door. The best part of the room was the bathtub at the bottom of the bed which was a little different and fun. Don't fall for the free breakfast trick as it's limited to yogurt, fruit, toast, ham, croissants and cheese. If you want anything warm you'll need to pay ~£20 for a fry up and extra for a coffee, plus service charge. Asking to check out an hour later is an additional £20. Every opportunity to take your money is taken, even after paying so much for a room. Would not waste my money here again. Left more stressed than when I arrived. Never felt so robbed by what was meant to be a 5 star hotel.

Visited for my birthday in March & spent 2 very decadent nights here. We have been before & were a little disappointed that the decor has changed & doesn’t seem quite so crazy, but the experience is still amazing! The rooms are out of this world & the little extras provided really make the experience very special. The majority of the staff on this occasion were fabulous. They are impeccably polite & go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. ( I need to mention Nicole in the bar, whose customer service & interactions with colleagues is of the highest quality & professionalism. Whilst there Nicole was introducing a new member of staff & I watched the exceptional manner & confidence with which this was done). The restaurant food is delicious - we didn’t have the Sunday roast, but it looked & smelled divine, we will definitely be back to try this! The drinks are on the pricy side, but the quality & taste of the champagne & cocktails makes it worthwhile. Hats off to the mixologists. The outdoor pool isn’t heated, so we didn’t use it in this occasion although in the warmer months it’s a great addition to the hotel. Take your swimsuit. The Saturday night DJ was fantastic & the ambience was great. Sunday evening was much quieter save for a couple of younger residents effing & jeffing quite loudly, which spoiled it somewhat, so we took our cocktails to finish in our room. We stayed in suite 2 in the main block & it was gorgeous. We were concerned we might hear the noise from the bar & restaurant below but didn’t hear a sound. If you’re in that room in the colder weather ask them to light the fires & relax with your partner in a cosy bubble bath together. I love this place & will definitely be saving hard to return again.

Crazy bear was absolutely amazing. Such a unique chilled space! Staff were very friendly to us and attended our needs for drinks, food, blankets and putting the heaters on for us.. the room was spotless, beautifully decorated with rose petals like we asked for and was just at the back of the main house which was only a short walk into the restaurant. It is very very pricey for food and drinks, we paid £23 for a coke and a gin & lemonade! Depending on people’s preference on how much they want to pay this can be quite expensive especially for vodka/gin where as beer is only £6 so there’s something there for all! It was totally beautiful and I literally did not want to go home, wish I could’ve stayed longer! Thanks Crazy Bear, lovely stay and lovely area!!

We attended as a couple for a 30th birthday in April. I have made a complaint and the manager has offered a 50% discount on my next stay so is taking responsibility. However, will not issue a refund.
Suite 8 had a fault with Air con which we complained about multiple times and staff just came in looked at the control panel and said it would be sorted soon. When being shown to the room the staff member even mentioned herself regarding the heat of the room. I complained regarding the heat multiple times and was fobbed off every single time, another member of staff said the manager had altered it and it should be sorted. The heat in the room was unpleasant and cctv would show our door and windows open and us having to go outside to keep cool because the heat in the room was unbearable, multiple times during the night and early hours of the morning. However because the maintenance man couldn't find any issues the manager is supposedly calling me a liar however your CCTV and my complaints to reception would support I am not a liar and don't appreciate your manager Chris Baigent calling me one in so many words. You cannot take liability and offer me 50% of my next stay because why would anyone want to stay at this establishment. You say you aim for constant perfection but judging from your reviews and your responses its a little less perfection and clutching at any straws you can to try and manage an establishment where you are clearing failing.
Don't bother with the Wowcher deal, bought the best one there and spent nearly £500 for a 3 course meal that you have to pay for extras. Bland Thai food and unless you want anything other than a vegetable pad Thai be prepared to spend about £100 extra. The courses are not much more than a starter sized dish. AVOID - The voucher states buffet breakfast continental. However, they've changed it if you want to wait 20 minutes for a latte that you have to pay extra for - don't bother. We ate breakfast elsewhere.
The staff know what's going on, they will apologise and they won't do anything about it. I would have had a better night stay in a Travelodge or even better for £500 go abroad go anywhere else but dont bother wasting money on Crazy Bear Beaconsfield.
The bar is a bit of an odd area with multiple staff there working but don't go up to the bar they won't even look your way. You're ignored, find a table wait 20 minutes patiently and you might be seen at some point who knows.
Check out was interesting - other guests complaining over the same issues.

Shocking. This is without doubt an overpriced overhyped and tacky establishment. On arrival we were shown to our rooms ‘across the lobby ‘ which was in fact the main road and into another building. At this point I did wonder how we were expected to cross the road in our robes and swimsuits to use the jacuzzi and pool. Needless to say we didn’t. I appreciate a snug room is just that but one so small that you can’t fit a door on the bathroom is not expected when paying through the nose. I also understand the quirky gothic ambience but this more like cheap tarts boudoir with the pvc wall and floor and lights so dim apart from the flashing smoke alarm all night. We were advised that room service was available but thank goodness we didn’t take advantage of this, given that when being brought 4 drinks and some nuts all of 10 feet from bar to our table, we were charged £9.99 service each time. We were all looking forward to the fine dining experience advertised and observed the dress code of no trainers in the restaurant. Unfortunately they did fail to advertise that you could vape , swear and play Tik Tok videos on your phone and generally annoy other diners. This apparently is acceptable. The food was in part inedible and we had to send back the £95 Tomahawk steak which in all fairness they did not quibble and removed from the bill. Chips were great 👍 I only wish we had read the reviews prior and booked the Stadhampton venue. Unfortunately it looks like the new management in Beaconsfield have recruited very young and very apathetic staff with no aptitude for hospitality. Although breakfast was included we could not wait to leave and get on the road and not have to spend another minute in the grubby place.

I received an email from them a few das before my travel letting me know they can provide things like roses, chocolates or champaigns etc. placed in the room at a charge. I didn't have the budget at their price so I secretly (so my husband did not know as the whole trip was a surprise) brought my own roses, champagne, ice bucket and flutes. I even stop on route to pick up ice and other drinks (so there was no suspicion) There is a small Tesco in walking distance or other supermarkets within 15 minutes drive. When I arrived after checking in I asked him to wait outside and I set the room up. He LOVED it. Best wishes
