Loved it. Can't wait to go back. The food was awesome. Treated like royalty. Diving exceptional. As good as the barrier reef in Australia without the flight and expense. Something for everyone! Quiet, relaxing, safe, lots to see and do. Even the drive is an adventure!

This is not the Hyatt or the Hilton nor is it a resort where even the beaches are cleaned daily. This is a true off the beaten path destination and the perfect place for someone who wants to really unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you ar expecting 5star restaurants, shopping malls and...

We loved it! We weren't sure what to expect after the negative comment posted, but they were so wrong! Especially enjoyed the 'hidden away' feeling of really being in the Mexican jungle, yet right on the beach. We didn't do any diving but had a great time. There is plenty of exploring to do in the surrounding area, fly fishing,...

I was not sure what to expect so far off the beaten path, it was the most wonderful week's vacation I've had. Previously I spent a week in Cancun but it is overcrowded and too commercial. This is truly a tropical paradise on the beach. Very secluded and not ruined by the overbuilding and crowds experienced in Cancun. The owners...

Before posting this review I read several others thoughts and experiences. Our personal experience was 5 STAR! Amazing beauty, clear waters and wonderful food and staff. From the beginning it was a resort like no other, truly a hideaway and place of paradise. This wonderful resort offers the diver and non diver the treat of a lifetime. Not only would...

My husband and I were very pleased with our vacation at Maya Palms. We were there the end of May through the first part of June. I was very nervous about the 4.5 hour drive through Mexico from Cancun to the resort (not a problem), and I don’t do well with heat and bugs. It was warm and humid but...

I think this was the perfect example of a bait and switch the resort was very run down and the owners were very unresponsive to anything we needed or wanted we had a bungalow or I would call it a cement tent since there was only daylight and the few hours the generator was running that there was light available...

I have traveled to many places in the world have never had an experience like Maya Palms. Our group flew into Cancun and drove for 4.5 hours to get to Maya Palms. After honking at the double secured gate we were let into the compound after 15 minutes at approx 10 pm. Most of the people in the group were...

Maya Palms hasn't disappointed yet. Went back over New Years. It is so peaceful and relaxing. This is the first time I had been there without owners Doug and Cathy, nonetheless it was a first rate experience, again with the feeling of being part of the family. This time we had a very small group of six of us which...

I have just recently returned from a dive trip to Maya Palms Dive Resort in Mahahual, Mexico. I was at this dive destination almost a decade ago and remember certain things. The one thing I do not remember is how pristine, untouched, beautiful, and full of life this reef actually is. The water temps were consistently 87-89 degrees the entire...
