Stayed for one night waiting to take the ferry over to Tobermory. Room was clean. Owner was very nice greeted me as I drove in as I had told them approximate time I was going to arrive. Offered me a bottle of cold water one for me and one for my dog. After I was checked in brought over a...

We arrived late after the last ferry. We found a very inebriated owner who seemed very confused. We had reservations for months and even called the week before to confirm and remind them we were on the last ferry from Tobermory. We arrived at 11 pm to find our reservation had been given away. There was nowhere else available for...

Stopped on route to MB. I had a great sleep and will say that the room was clean and the bed was comfy. The owners are new and are working in things but if travelling would for sure stay again. Thanks for the hospitality. ☺

It offers all you can expect, a clean room, a hot shower, free wifi, and complimentary coffee and muffin in the morning. Oh and the owners are very nice. This motel has been around for a long time. I have been visiting Manitoulin Island for over 30 years now. The owners have kept up with maintenance and repairs. When you...

This is an old style Mom & Pop motel. However, very well maintained and very clean. The owners are very hospitable, courteous and well informed about the area. This motel is minutes away from the ferry and at a great price for this area. Would recommend.

We recently stayed at the Buck Horn Motel during a motorcycle road trip. We needed a place to stay the night as we were taking the ferry in the morning. In the past we had (unsuccessfully) tried to stay on the Tobermory side (they require 2 night minimum stays - ridiculous) so we decided to try the South Baymouth side...

We were attending an anniversary party near South Baymouth and were looking for a property near the function. I remembered The Buckhorn from years ago when I worked on the Island ferries. While reading the Tripadvisor reviews I thought it would be worth a stay. Boy was I right! The furnishings are simple and basic but that is where the...

“The room choices really depend on how many are in the room. I have been going to manitoulin island for over 30 years. When we had the little ones, we would prefer to book the end room and family would book the next end room. This just gave the kids the area beside and behind to run around and we could an eye on them. Now visiting without the kids, any of the rooms are nice; the only problem is other guests that park infront of your room and not their own. Manners people, there are others in the motel. This solo visit I had the 1st room and it was good for my needs.”
