A group of 4 of us shared the double queen room. Very nice accommodation, and very clean. We enjoyed the included breakfast and the location. It's a nice short walk to look around downtown. Port hope has a lot of interesting shops to snoop around in and it was really neat to see the salmon running up the river.

We usually stay in Cobourg during the Vintage Film Festival but this year we tried The Carlyle. The 7 of us had Rooms 2, 4, 5 and 6 (the best!). Staff were friendly, funny, carried our luggage upstairs and paid special attention to birthday dinner arrangements in the Tangir Room. It's a good price and a 3 minute walk to...

My wife and I stayed in Room #1 at the Carlyle, and couldn't have had a better stay that weekend. Staff were friendly, courteous and attentive. The hotel is well-situated in Port Hope and is beautifully decorated and clean. We WILL be back next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Due to our late arrival, we had requested a snack be sent to our room. It was even better than what we hoped for, perfect for weary travelers. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Bath area was clean and had all the amenities. Breakfast was delicious. Dave and his staff are friendly and professional.

We checked in for a getaway weekend recently, with plans to explore the surrounding area and use the Carlyle as our base. The room was comfortable and average but our stay was heavily influenced by the Hotel's service levels at check-out time. We were still in our room, packing up at 11:00 a.m. Yes, this is the posted check-out time....

The first call was at 11:15 and the next call was at 11:30. If the customer had informed us ahead of time that they wanted a little more time there would not have been a problem. Thanks Dave

We stayed over at the Carlisle Inn after enjoying the matinee at the Capitol Theatre's fabulous presentation of Mama Mia. the show is excellent, a "must see". The Carlisle Inn was perfect. Our ground floor room, #10, was huge, spotless and very comfortable with a very convenient door exiting to the parking lot. Great if you have a problem with...

Dined here with husband and friend and we all had the special the beef tenderloin. The presentation was beautiful and the food was excellent...... however our server was Christine and she is definitely not of the caliber of fine dining. I handed her a knife that had food on it and she kept inspecting it and then reluctantly brought me...

After visiting The Carlyle Inn and Bistro several times we decided to overnight and take advantage of one of their "packages". Wow - what a deal - do check them out....we had a terrific king bedded room - high ceilings in this beautiful former Bank of Montreal building - a modernized bedroom with heritage appeal....a superb four course dinner (excellent...

I had a business dinner here on their patio area and it was wonderful. The service was attentive, but extremely relaxed. The food was excellent. A great value and meal - the bar inside also looked extremely fun. I would definitely come here again.
