Property's Favourite Review
I just spent 2 blissful nights at the beautiful Nevis Estates. The whole experience starts when you drive through the iron gates. The grounds are gorgeous, its hard to believe I was so close to the down town core of Perth. The hostess was gracious and welcoming. The rooms are tastefully decorated, maintaining the old world charm and character of the home while infusing modern touches. My bedroom was beautifully decorated. From the big comfy chairs, the well stocked bar and coffee station, the large screen TV, the fireplace, right down to the Dyson hair dryer, it had everything I could wish for. The sheets were luxurious and comfortable. I read somewhere that there was a train noise, I did not hear anything. My sleep was amazing, I woke feeling both refreshed and rejuvenated. In the morning I was treated to a delicious breakfast, and a frothy latte all done to perfection and served with a smile. Nevis Estates is truly a unique experience of comfort and luxury. It surpasses a rating of a 5 star stay . I love Nevis Estate and cannot wait to go back.

So my husband and our friends stayed at the Nevis Estates last week for three nights. Upon entering the beautiful historical building, the instructions sent to us by Terri was excellent. There is excellent communication with the owners. We entered our rooms and the beds and pillows were so comfy and the linens were so soft. They actually iron all the bedding. We stayed in the Oban room which had a beautiful couple shower. The room also had a Dyson hair dryer and all the essentials you need for hair and bath products. Very high end. The towels were amazing, so soft and really big. The breakfast was the best I have ever had with warm danishes, croissants, fruit and yogurt, and a chocolate treat. Then we had the choice of eggs, bacon, sausage and toast. It was such an amazing breakfast served every morning and David was a great server. We felt like royalty every morning! In the evening we went to the newly opened bar to sip on a few scotches. They had the most selection of scotch I have ever seen. I would highly recommend a stay at Nevis estates. We hope to go back next year to enjoy the pool.

As a gift from our daughter and her husband, we had a lovely one night stay at Nevis Estate. The 1840s property is in a beautiful setting with an in ground pool. It has been lovingly restored and updated with elegant and tasteful touches throughout. The floors are the original floors from 1842 and outdoor shoes are therefore not permitted, which is quite understandable. However, they do provide lovely slippers to wear or you can simply wear your socks. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the towels fluffy and luxurious. The in-house bar is very cozy and welcoming and I had my first chocolate martini (delicious). The staff are all friendly and efficient. The delicious breakfast was in the bright dining room or open kitchen area and was made to order, including a choice of coffees (Americano, cafe au lait, espresso, etc.). Highly recommend this lovely B&B.

My daughter and I stayed here for one night on a get away to Perth and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The estate is on a beautifully treed oasis near the centre of town but you feel like you’re getting away from it all. The pool looked inviting though we didn’t get a chance to try it out. I stayed in a room with a large 4 poster king bed. It was very comfortable and linens top notch. The ensuite was large with a lovely soaker tub and separate shower. The smart TV worked well and wifi speed was great. We really enjoyed the breakfast. They offered a choice of coffees and there was fresh fruit, yogurt, and I a type of egg quiche which was very light and tasty. I would highly recommend the Nevis Estate and can’t wait to return.

We spend three days at Nevis Estate and enjoyed the stay. The owners, Terri and Scott, provided excellent service with delicious breakfasts and information on places to visit and restaurants for dinner. The Estate is in a forested four acre property about 1km from the downtown, an easy walk through beautiful older residential neighbourhoods. The rooms have been recently renovated, modernizing while maintaining the historical heritage of the property.

The hotel describes itself as “Experience a refined urban retreat that seamlessly combines historical elegance with contemporary comforts and local character. Indulge in delicious breakfasts, relax in our serene courtyard with a cup of coffee or a refreshing cocktail, and retreat to your beautifully appointed room for ultimate relaxation.”
However, it fails to mention the noise that you will experience at this hotel by the train line and rail crossing directly next to property. You get the lovely dings of the crossing operating with the horn from the train to alert people. It makes for a terrible nights sleep especially if you are a light sleeper. No where is the mentioned on the website and the room is far from ultimate relaxation for this reason. The hotel is misadvertising the experience.
The arrivals was fine, and the slippers are funny as you can see the cedar floor is scratched anyway, but hey.
We splashed out on the balvine suite and if it wasn’t for the train noise it would be ok. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was nice and large. The fridge was very noisy intermittently when it got too hot.
Even my husband struggled to sleep as the light coming from the hallway which he tried to switch off but turned itself back on.
The breakfast was nice with croissants, granola and omelette. I enjoyed the music which meant that I couldn’t try and get some sleep later in the day. The speakers downstairs are built into the ceiling and whilst soft music downstairs the bass carries into the room.
Was meant to stay 2 nights and checked out after 1 with no refund offered even though they misadventures it. Loads of excuses from the manager and also stating that they offered ear plugs. She didn’t seem to understand that I just wouldn’t have booked this if I had known and that I thought it was going to be a relaxing stay!!

Thank you for your review. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your recent stay did not meet your expectations. As you mentioned, the historic town of Perth has train tracks that have been part of its landscape for over 200 years, and we understand how the noise can be disruptive. While we provide complimentary earplugs for light sleepers, we regret that they were not effective for you. You also requested to check out at 11:00AM. As noted on our website, Nevis Estate is a historic property built in 1842, and the original pinewood floors where sounds travels due to their age. We have made efforts to mitigate this by installing commercial shutters under the doors to block light from the hallway, which must remain on for safety reasons, and by playing soft background music designed to act as white noise throughout the property. As a small business with only six rooms, we must adhere to our cancellation policy, including charges for shortened stays or early departures. We appreciate your understanding in this regard. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

We enjoyed our stay at the Nevis Estate just so much! It is splendid, comfortable, luxurious and relaxing.
Our room, Oban, was spacious with a huge wow-factor. I slept like a baby in the cozy bedding. (+It offers a Nespresso Virtuo machine and a kettle to boil water for tea!)
We swam in the large heated pool, enjoyed the well-stocked bar on the main floor (kudo to the brilliant bartender, Shera), and visited every attraction of the very scenic city of Perth. :)
We had our breakfasts in different restaurants in town, to discover a variety of menus at cheaper cost.
This B&B has a great, convenient location on a beautiful wooded street. It is also near a railway road, which didn't bother me at all while my partner heard the trains during the night.
Finally, eveything was spotless clean, and well organized with an online pre-check in, and we were warmly welcomed by the other very kind employee.
Thank you, Nevis Estate, for a delicious getaway!

This is the first bed and breakfast I've been to. It blew me away! So beautiful, elegant, peaceful, and romantic. If you are staying in Perth, this place is must. We got two rooms, they were tastefully decorated, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The town where all the restaurants and stores are 10 mins away walking ( with small kids). I will definitely come back in the summer to enjoy the pool.

Nevis Estate is set in a park- like setting, within easy walking distance along historic streets to the charming Perth downtown. Our Balvenie suite was luxurious in every way. A super comfortable bed, bright windows, spacious sitting area and large modern bathroom provided pleasant comfort .
Our hosts, Terri and Scott were very welcoming and friendly, as was their staff. Terri's breakfast choices were amazing and delicious. She prepares them in a cheery open kitchen while chatting with you .
A track hidden behind trees beyond the property provides the excitement of a train roaring past once or twice during the night. Although some may find this a problem, we loved its friendly sound, which lasted less than two minutes each time.
We would highly recommend this lovely accommodation to visitors to the city.

First off, I will say that this is one of the nicest B&Bs that we have ever stayed,
Unfortunately, the management chose to ruin a lovely experience by charging for items that are normally included in even the lowest end chain hotel. Imagine paying over $300 per night and then being charged $6 for a cup of tea.
The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. But even the offer of removing the charge for one cup of coffee ( can you believe they charge for coffee at breakfast?) was not enough to remove the bad taste this usurious practice left with us.
It's shame that management's practices ruined a beautiful stay.

We appreciate your comments regarding our breakfast offerings. I’d like to clarify that our menu does include a one selection of beverages, and I apologize if that you didn't see it written on the menu. We take pride in using high-quality coffee from Nespresso, ensuring it’s always freshly made. Regarding our tea options, we also strive to provide top-quality products, and the pricing reflects the quality and local tax regulations in Ontario. I’m glad we could waive the additional beverage charges for you during check-out, and I’m sorry to hear that you remain unsatisfied. Your experience is important, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
