We recently stayed a night at this motel while attending the annual Stewart Park Festival in Perth. We were very happy with our accommodations. The price was reasonable, and they did not hike their prices way up for the festival weekend like some of the other nearby motels did. The room was clean and spacious, with up to date decor. Even the provided coffee in the room was good. And the staff were very friendly.

We arrived later in the day, without a reservation, and had no problem getting a room with two queen beds. Rooms are the largest that I have stayed in and well maintained/cleaned/equipped. There is a small bar fridge, microwave, desk (& chair) with small coffee maker, arm chair, heater, A/C, and bathroom with immediate hot water. Beds were comfortable with several pillows to choose from. We stayed seven nights with any special requests immediately fulfilled. Checkout was quick and easy. Will definitely recommend to other family and friends.

Enjoyed our recent stay in a comfortable bed/room! Plenty of room with a pull out couch as well as bed and very clean. We plan to stay again as we regularly visit the area. Front desk courteous and helpful too.

To avoid
We have booked a room for 3 ( 2 adults and a child of 12 years) we have a room for 2. They didn't want to know anything even with the Reservation that says we're 3. Imagine sleeping three in one bed. They said you booked this room and then that's it. So don't count on them if we're in trouble.
They are there only for the money because he does not even look at the reservations made , it is not professional.
Question Bedding the mattress is old, super soft basically hell.
The general cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Dust not done everywhere and hair in the bathtub. 😞

An exercise in frustration, booked a few weeks in advance for a weekend trip to see a few friends. Arrived and found out that the reservation was lost. Apparently the confirmation number I was given was just a number pulled out of the sky. They did still have a room however so I decided to take it. The room was very cramped and had a musty smell coming from somewhere. I knew it was pointless to complain about the size of the room but did ask management to take a look into the musty smell, I think a little carpet fresh and febreeze would have probably done the trick. To my surprise the person I was speaking with seemed insulted and angry that I had even suggested such a thing. Will not be returning and will not be recommending to others.

2 couples, stayed one night July 2013.
Don't be fooled when you read there is a pool at this motel.....It is closed up-the owner stated it's too expensive to open! and there is no WIFI.
Room 117- 2 double beds. One of the beds/mattress deflates when you lay in it and the room smelled like smoke/formaldehyde (it was a non-smoking room). We had to spray the room with febreeze and even that didn't work. Needless to say we did not spend much time in the room.
Room 107- was in a back corner of the building...Shady...and I don't mean from the sun...more like a Bate's Motel episode. It had a tube TV , no shower head, but there was an ice bucket....but no where to get ice!
However, the rooms were clean and the air conditioners worked well.
but we will not be staying there again.

We reserved a group of rooms for wedding guests. Once we had the the final tally - we went to hotel (in person) to cancel all but the rooms that were needed and those rooms were transferred into the name of guests. Now we are here a month and half later with a $300 credit card bill for rooms that we cancelled in person. We immediately called the motel and were directed to the manager who told us we did not cancel all the rooms. Naturally we argued that we stood there and watched the front desk clerk "erase" the rooms from a book (this hotel does not seem to have a computerized system) and why would we reserve rooms that were not used at all. We did not sign anything and yet we are billed for 4 rooms. The manager said the was no way their establishment would make a mistake. Talk about poor customer service. I would just like to warn any travellers or people planning weddings in the are thinking of reserving a room for guests out of courtesy, this establishment was very difficult to deal and unfortunately we have had to contact our credit card company who will now pursue this matter on our behalf. *** If this kind of thing can happen when you deal with the business in person, I would be very wary of any dealings over the phone.***

Despite a small issue when we first checked in concerning air conditioning, the stay was pleasant and it was certainly a good deal. Very clean for a motel, I would recommend it to those looking for a mixture of good value and cleanliness ....... 😉

My husband & I loved the size & lay out of the room; very good for both our walkers. Staff provided portable ramp as there was a step up to the room. Bath was not accessible but still comfortable to maneuver around in. Beds and pillows were the best we've experienced yet. Down side: train tracks right across the road - but not a problem after the first time - we both slept well all night. Very comfortable, clean, pleasant stay!

Stopping at Perth was the 2nd night of a 4 day motorcycle trip from London, Ontario. I chose this motor inn because I had stayed there about 15 years ago and liked the size of the rooms. I found the motel on-line and they had an 800 line to make reservations. The price is a bit cheaper than the brand name motels/hotels @ $90.00/night. The rooms, as I remembered are very large, with 2 queen sized beds, flat screen TV and a small fridge. They rooms/bathroom are very clean and the A/C worked very well. The Colonial has free WiFi. It also has an in ground pool, although we did not use it. It appeared to be in good repair, with clean water. Check-in was easy with our reservation. We were unable to have our bill split over 2 credit cards which was only a minor inconvenience.
The motel is right on the west edge of Perth, on Hwy 7. It is a short $9.00 taxi ride to the downtown area for dinner. There is fuel and a busy Tim Horton's just a 1/2 km. to the east, well within walking distance.
This is a nice quiet motel that I would highly recommend to any traveller, solo or family.
