The location of the Iona Heights Inn is great for accessing a large part of Cape Breton Island. With the onsite pub and convenience store, you have everything you need at the property and there are several cafes within a short drive that serve delicious, home style meals. The staff (owners?) work extremely hard to make you feel welcome and...

The location of the inn is easy to find and on a height with dramatic and stunning views of the lake! It's really a picture perfect location. The weather was stormy, snowy and icy during our stay and probably why we were the only guests at the time! Our room had a great view, was warm and cozy and had...

We're super glad you enjoyed your short stay here with us, and hope you can make it back when the sun is shinning and the lake is warm. It was nice to meet you folks. Cheers for now! Dan

Nice place with a great little cafe. Only thing lacking are microwave ovens in the rooms. Friendly staff, nice lil chocolate shop n a wonderful view. This is definitely a nice place to stay while you're in Cape Breton. Wonderful museum depicting past housing styles from centuries past with an old fashioned country store.

We spend one night here during our week on Cape Breton. It is an older motel remotely situated on a hilltop with wonderful views of the lake. The rooms have been recently updated and the furniture is mostly new. The beds are new and still firm, the linens are minimalist. (Think IKEA). The bathroom was basic and the toiletries were...

I attended a friends fundraiser here this past weekend. It was such a great stay! . Check in and check out were very fast and efficient. The room was fantastic, very large and spotless. It had everything you needed: Netflix on the tv, a little coffee maker, comfy beds and pillows and the best part was the white noise machine!...

The Iona Heights Inn is in a beautiful location overlooking Bras D'Or Lake at the Barra Strait. The room was a little tired but very clean with lots of space. The hotel had a pub and we were lucky enough to be there when they had a ceilidh. There was a good turnout and it was fun to be part...

Booked this accommodation because of the Trip Advisor 4+ star rating... No way! People were nice enough, and it did have a beautiful lake view, but the location is not convenient to anything. The exterior is worn and tired looking. Parking leaves much to be desired. Soundproofing between rooms needs to be better. Bed was super soft. They need a...

Hello Linda. Thanks for the constructive critisim, as we are always looking for ways to improve. Couple notes: We are situated directly in the middle of Cape Breton Island, so working as a homebase to do your day's activities, we're not too far from any one point on the Island, and of course we share a driveway with one of...

Traveling with three friends, I stayed at the Iona Heights Inn during the Celtic Colours music festival. The Inn makes the most of its location: every room has a view over the lake (those on 2nd floor are worth the extra). In October, you can watch the sun rise while sipping coffee in your room. From 8 a.m. you can...
