Out in the country with plenty of open space. We stayed in the "big house" not a cabin. The rooms are "aged" with the patina of time, but the sleep was good and rooms clean. Funky - we had a rope for a fire escape but the air conditioner made opening the escape window impossible. A great restaurant with excellent...

I stayed for two nights in an inn room while travelling on business in the area. The property is located in a beautiful valley. The rooms in the inn are very nice with lots of old world charm. Front Desk staff were very helpful and dinner was good. I also attended the weekly Wednesday night ceilidh which was really good....

been there years ago with my club of 30 amateur & pro photographers. our host (Dave) was great. cabins with the swings in screened-in balconies make it so quaint & restful! look forward to returning. kept clean, great food in their restaurant using vegetables grown right on grounds! There are horses and a barn where local musicians entertain the guests....

A later booking on the Cabot Trail brought us to The Normaway Inn. Reception was polite and very helpful, as were all the staff we encountered. We had a room in the main building which I would describe as 'tired chic'. Nothing wrong with that as the room was spacious, clean and a delight to stay in. The bed was...

This was recommended to us by family - and we are really glad we heeded their advice. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay here longer. Rooms were nice, dinner and breakfast were both very nice, and they had music in the evening. Very nice experience!

This was a total surprise on how quiet and accommodating this spot was. We called on same day and got 2 reservations for 1 bedroom cottage. They are clean and definitely dated but still very accommodating. Staff are very friendly and the food is higher cuisine. A bit confusing the menu but basically it amounts to different courses but they...

We rented two cabins in August at the Normaway for a family group of 6. The cabins are very nice - rustic and comfortable but not palatial. The setting at Normaway is beautiful with its very long treed entry drive, its pastoral setting with horses, cattle and barns. The old farm house lodge adds to the character and offers live...

David, Jim and crew cannot help themselves. They don't even try but you feel you have been there before and you feel as though they genuinely want you to stay and to return. The Barn on Wednesday night is a must do if you enjoy down home talent and wonderful Cape Breton music. (You had better like the fiddle). (Ponce...

Our family of four enjoyed two nights here. The kids 7 and 10 years loved the big lawn to run around and loved feeding the horses. The cape Breton music in the barn was excellent. Food was also really good. A little bit out of the way, but well worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night at this charming, rustic inn on the Cabot Trail and wished we could have stayed longer! It was by far the best place we stayed on our Nova Scotia vacation, due to the warmth of the hospitality and the sense of truly being away from it all, while being very conveniently located. We were...
