We were on a Nova Scotia/PEI trip for a couple of weeks and chose the Normaway for the first stop on our clockwise trip around the Cabot Trail. There is a single malt distillery on the Cabot Trail just before you get to the Normaway turn off and we stopped to sample and get a tour while we were sampling...

Normaway was a one night stop on our first day on the Cabot Trail. Location is ideal as it's easy to get to. We stayed in a cabin as there were no rooms left in the main building. It was adequate. Pricey for the accommodations. Staff was helpful but not warm and hospitable. Food was tasty but very slow service...

The Normaway is situate on the mysteriously-names Egypt road in the stunning Margaree Valley in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The long driveway is lined with pines, eventually opening up to a big old fashioned farmhouse, a number of cabins and a barn. In the middle of "nowhere" is some world-class dining, post-card scenery, great locally-based Celtic entertainment and lots of...

This historic inn is nestled in the heart of one of the most beautiful places on earth- The Margaree Valley, Cape Breton. You drive down a long tree lined drive with horses grazing the pasture, past a few quaint cottages & up to the main lodge. You can smell summers past & hunters's tales of autumns spent in the nearby...

We had forgotten that there was no t.v. and being huge Bluejays fans & they were playing on TV THAT EVENING, WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED... we were able to follow the scoring in the dining room on our cell phone, but had to check in our car after.. BUT THEY WON😀😀 Room was equipped with microwave, fridge, and very rustic...nice quilt...

The people we dealt with at the Normaway couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. It was my birthday, and my husband asked if there could be lamb, my favorite, on the dinner menu. Well, guess what...there it was just as he requested! We had a wonderful meal very expertly prepared and presented and enjoyed musical entertainment in the parlor...

We spent last night in one of the rustic Normaway cottages in the Margaree Valley. It was clean and comfortable and provided a fridge and microwave as well as a wood stove. We were invited to attend a performance by Crissy Crowley in the living room of the inn - fantastic! The intimate gathering with fiddle music and family stories...

If you want to experience the true flavour of the Canadian Maritimes, this is the place. We were traveling eastern Canada in the fall and booked places as we went. Searching the net for places close to the Cabot Trail we happened on the Normaway Inn. Cabins and an old Manor House. Very reasonable rates, and on site restaurant. We...

Wonderfully quiet and isolated setting in the beautiful Margaree Valley. The cabins are cosy and comfortable , the food was delicious - especially the breakfast granola. Wonderful warm and friendly staff - nothing was a problem . We asked for a fridge for our cabin and it arrived in less than 5 minutes!

This lodge is not for everyone and chances are, unless you are a repeat guest, you will be a little taken back on your first impression. You need to let it grow on you. When you hit the driveway---slow down and smell the roses. This is not a fast pace motel. In fact it's not a fast pace anything which...
