Wonderful staff (Jane & Linda - hope I remembered correctly), clean comfortable room & the most amazing view from the dining room. However, we were so disappointed with our meal, it was boring & tasteless, a sad plate of food. Apparently it was the chef's night off & it was very obvious.

We stayed here on a cold, wet night, with lightning and thunder adding to the drama of the evening. The inn has the feel of a large, comfortable family home. We had a reasonable meal here, but my steak was poorly cooked. I should have complained and I shouldn't have struggled through it, but I was hungry. Fellow travellers said...

My wife and I were looking for a dog-friendly place to stay while visiting the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and were blessed to find the Castlerock Country Inn as they were about the only accommodation and restaurant still open in November. Fortunately, the room was very nice with great views of Ingonish Harbor and the meals were wonderful. Breakfast...

We came from the greater Toronto area to Cape Breton on October 24th and this was one of the last hotels that was still open and operating. Now that we have stayed here I would definitely recommend staying in Cheticamp instead. There is more happening there and better hotels. The staff at Castle Rock seems to be unorganized and new...

But we were in the basement, so restricted view over coast, also beneath the dining area with heavy feet. Breakfast self service with a reasonable selection of goods. View from the dining area amazing. Dinner good. Staff at reception very helpful.

The inn with 15 guest rooms overlooks the Middle Head Peninsula and the beautiful bay. The rooms are rustic, spacious and comfortable. Service is efficient, friendly and helpful. A worthwhile hike on the Middle Head Peninsula is a few miles away. Continental breakfast is included. A large terrace on the ocean side is nice for breakfast or just relaxing. Good...

Very comfortable night on the sofa bed. Good dinner and outdoor breakfast with a distracting view. The linens are good, the bathroom well equipped with a good shower, and quality food. Sorry that we were there for only one night.

We enjoyed our stay at Castlerock very much. Firstly, the staff were very friendly and very helpful, immediately ready to accommodate special requests with no fuss whatsoever. The views from the restaurant and balcony alone are worth the price of admission! The breakfast was a buffet, very generous and with lots of healthy choices. The room was well appointed, with...

room was nice , we had the upstairs small room and it was fine. bathroom a little small but again OK... water pressure little low. Breakfast is not great .. especially since they advertise that are an upscale dinner spot, we would have tried their dinner, but the breakfast turned us off. they have a few rocking chairs out in...
