We just had the best vacation at Shady Shores. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The 2 bedroom accommodation was clean, comfy and cozy. The kitchenette made our stay very family friendly. We especially enjoyed the beach, tide pools and the hot tub. There are on site boat rentals available as well. There are stores,...

It was a pleasure meeting you and your Family. I'm so happy that the weather cooperated and you were able to enjoy the beach and tide pools with the little one. You really made me laugh, and hope that you will all return again next year. Happy Trails

If you're looking for a happy and friendly welcome, have your room and towels attended to on a daily basis, then this is not the place for you. The room was clean, the kitchen area a little lacking for food prep but the view was nice. Non smoking areas all around, that was good, but two females smoking their faces...

Sorry that you arrived 2 hours early for check in on your 1/2 price deal. Thankfully travelers make decisions on the basis of a number of reviews and will weed out those junior travel writers, whom are empowered to write, before requesting for said articles at the office. Happy Trails

As life has been ever busy and the weeks so quickly fly by I thought it was about time to comment, and am happy to tell you why. First of all I tip my cap to a staff that's second to none! Their hospitality and caring was as genuine as it gets ... and this made our stay just that...

Stayed there on a family vacation in July 2016, we had the two-bedroom cabin. First the not-so-good: The bedrooms were small, double beds were okay, nothing special. Kitchen was small, tiny mini fridge, and could use more plates, bowls, cutlery etc. We had to put away other furniture in the living area in order to pull out the sofa-bed, and...

We spent a few days at Shady Shores before my brother's wedding in Bowser. It is very clean, quiet, and nicely located right on the beach. Unlike many places we've stayed that have a small kitchen suite, the dishes were actually clean in this one (it drives me crazy when a place dings you $50 if you don't clean the...

My friend and I booked Shady Shores for a three day girlfriend getaway on Vancouver Island last weekend. Only the ‘Honeymoon Suite’ was available for $240/night (which was the same rate as the top-rated Tigh Na Mara Resort) so we were excited about having a quality experience. The good points: - Great location - Lovely people - Clean room -...

Oh My.....All of our Happy Honeymooner's, Families and repeat Clients that have stayed in this same Beachfront suite and don't share your views? I can only surmise that this is a case of a disgruntled guest that was unable to book their requested larger 2 Bedroom Beachfront suite. Or just another Jr. Travel Writer who feels empowered by writing these...

Just two days off and much needed R&R being the priority we chose Shady Shores. I've been there before but never in a beach cabin where you have an unimpeded view of sea and sky. The sky won the first round with an amazing light show but the sea and all it offers kept us entertained watching the wildlife, which...

We stayed in one of the newly refurbished beach front cottages which is small but perfectly adequate for our needs as it was fully decked out with EVERYTHING we needed to cook all our meals. sleep and...

Thank you for your review. "no rat race here" although we did have a Bald Eagle race this morning. The Salmon must be in, as there are a number of Eagles dotting the shore. It is such a delight to watch the different species that arrive along the shoreline. Soon the Fishermen will arrive to cast their lines, in hopes...

We came up on the long weekend for a stay-cation here on the Island after a great weekend as a guest at the Log Home in March (great for retreats and families!) and we are so happy we did :) Morning coffee on the deck of the cottage the first day there were seals bobbing around the ocean and frolicking...
