Coming from the USA is was quite a trek to get here, but well worth it! We did a 4 day dhow trip, staying 1 night at the lodge, then 4 nights camping on 2 different islands, then back to the lodge for 2 nights. The islands were about 2-3 hours away by dhow. They have a temporary camp set...

We accessed Ibo Island by a short flight from Pemba. We were met at the airstrip by hotel transport and taken through bush and centre of Ibo to the beach front Lodge. Our room was spacious and overlooked the garden. The bed was magnificent and the room had very good air conditioning. We were on full board and enjoyed the...

If you are looking for the typical cookie cutter type of experience take a cruise or stay at some she.she resort...this place is the real deal...located on an island that will soon change i fear for the worse..but beneficial to the local population..i sound selfish..it is...

My wife and I spent 3 nights in Ibo on our anniversary , the lodge is a magnificently restored collection of buildings from the Portugese colonial times. The furniture is local hand carved pieces supplemented with pieces from Goa. The view from the upper deck where the bar and restaurant are situated has a view of the bay with sunsets...

Where can we start? This beautiful property has been expertly and painstakingly restored, but the efforts were certainly worth it. Each of the gardens have been stunningly landscaped, whilst the beautiful detailing of the rooms has created spacious, elegantly simple spaces. The staff are by far the best on the island whilst the food is some of the best we...

Ibo Island Lodge provided my sister and I with an extraordinary experience from 26-30 September 2016. We had 2 beautiful sea-facing suites, spacious and elegantly furnished with a wide, wrap-around balcony with a view across the mangrove plain to the ocean. The food was exceptional (all cooked on open coals - amazing) and the level of individual, personal attention was...

I visited with my wife and young son, and we were treated with great care and consideration. We were not simply served, we were cared for. The accommodations were not only the best in the area, they are competitive with any of the best lodging you can find anywhere. I cannot recommend Ibo Island Lodge enough.

Pricey if you pay full whack but we walked in and got a great rate. Lovely, impeccable rooms, good facilities and excellent food and diving. Take the free tours and sand bank option - they are all thoroughly worth it and you will leave much better informed as to how Mozambique has become the country it is today.
