Ibo Island is a special place where you really feel the history. Cinco Portas keeps that feeling alive but also provides a very comfortable place for the modern person to relax in. The value for the price is great and the pool is a wonderful bonus.

We spend five nights at Cinco Portas and enjoyed every single one. The rooms are around a lovely garden with shady trees, chameleons relaxing and the miniature gazelle tiktik running around. They have awesome, but more pricier rooms with sea view and good valuable rooms in the old colonial building. Chris, manager and chef, is a very nice person, very...

Cinco Portas is a beautiful little hideaway in the hot dusty surroundings of the island. Ibo is amazing and will definitely return to Cinco Portas. Chris allowed us to have our three dogs who were most interested in the young Gazelle he rescued. The food was absoolutely amazing, we are fish eaters so we did not try any meat but...

I really enjoyed my few days at Cinco Portas. Chris, the manager (interesting bloke and obviously had a long varied life involving lots of professions mostly around food, I think) was great. Very welcoming. Would sort out stuff or leave you alone. My room was nice. Spacious, hot water, mosie net, comfortable bed. Best part was the food. Don't look...

We really enjoyed staying 4 nights at this lodge. Chris was such a great host and he and his staff went extra mile to accommodate all of our wishes from choices in food to activities. He is an excellent chef, if I may add!! Would go again definitely!

Chris is a super chef and lovely person caring for his clients (going the extra mile to make your stay super great). Rooms are a bit tiny for the price but clean. (Mosquito net had holes.) Transport to the island can be arranged through the hotel or individually easily.

My wife and I came to Cinco Portas as part of our honeymoon in November of 2015. We stayed for a week and absolutely loved it! We were the only visitors so Chris gave us a good deal on the two-story room with its own terrace. The hotel is situated in a lush garden with a nice pool. One can...

Situated close to the dhow harbour and central to the historic section of Ibo island, this lovely place stood out for us for a couple of reasons. The incredibly friendly atmosphere and reception from Christopher (manager and exec chef, and what a chef, more about that later) and Isabel ensured a smooth arrival and hassle free stay. Our room had...

We stayed for two nights and had a brilliant time. Ibo is a special place in its own right, and Cinco Portas simply added to this. The pool is beautiful and the gardens, furnishings, the kitchen and the bar are all very tasteful. The food is the thing to really write home about though. It is original, delicious and generous....
