Very nice place to stay in Old Salem. Right in the historic section, just park and walk everywhere. The Tavern Restaurant, which is a delicious place to eat, is right across the street. They were very accomodating, called someone who had our room for one night and switched rooms around so we could stay for the weekend in one room....

We live less than 2 hours from Old Salem, North Carolina--that in itself, makes it an ideal getaway. I'm a southerner, who had visited the historic town several times, but never stayed overnight. My husband is from New England, and he had never been there. Our first trip together was the night before Thanksgiving, 2012. The moment we stepped into...

My husband and I visited Old Salem for the first time this past weekend. We live fairly close (an hour and a half) but wanted to stay overnight so we didn't feel rushed to get home Saturday evening. We decided to stay at the Augustus T. Zevely Inn in Old Salem and were very happy with the choice. We checked...

Nothing against the Inn itself but it needs to be written in their policies that they DO NOT accept younger children under any circumstance. It is apparently an unwritten rule. Do not try to get away with it or you will be sorely disappointed ;) FYI We were upfront and honest that we had a child when we booked and...

The Inn is an old, renovated building in Old Salem. Our room and bathroom were small but comfortable. Good mattress. Clean room. AC was effective. The property overall is attractive and charming. It's right in Old Salem, a plus. Service and friendliness were good. Breakfast was OK, nothing unusual. It's probably not well suited to young children. I'd recommend it...

We made reservations for the 3rd floor but upon arrival Linda noticed our "arthritic bodies" and let us look at 2 other rooms to let us make a change if we wished. We did gratefully opt for the 2nd floor. This B&B is beautifully restored but so authentic down to the cabinets and pewter in them. We loved sitting in...

Nothing prepared me for unexpectedly delight of this inn on the main street in historic Old Salem. It was warm, welcoming, comfortable and quiet, and very carefully managed with the highest of standards. Beautiful bouquets of fresh local flowers were in arrangements in every public room, breakfasts were lavish, delicious, and freshly-made, bed linens were top of the line, and...

This past weekend on July 4th, we arrived at the Inn for what would have been our fourth stay at The Zevely. We were told we could not check in before 3pm so we spend the day in Old Salem. The Inn Keeper greeted us at the front door. When my husband announced we were checking in, she looked at...

Stayed July 3, 2013. Excellent place to stay. Beatuifuly decorated period house with 12 rooms. Clean, friendly, comfortable and excellent location. Our Queen room was $125 including tax. Room had everything we needed including alarm clock and hair dryer. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Our experience was nothing like April 21 "too hot on 3rd floor"comments. Just...

My husband and I stayed here as a short get-a-way, spur of the moment. The B&B is located right in the middle of Old Salem which was so convenient. We were greeted by Sherry when we arrived, she was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the history. We were given a tour of the B&B and she explained the breakfast...
