Hotel's Favourite
Amazing hotel with incredible staff! We stayed here on a recent trip to Wilmington. We had stayed in 4 different Hilton properties over the week (we are Diamond members and had a lot of travel over the week) and this was the first hotel over that week to welcome us as Diamond members and offer us some water and snacks (seems small but it was huge to us). All of the staff was friendly and welcoming (from valet, front desk, housekeeping, breakfast crew). Location was great- 2-3 blocks off of the Riverwalk and a block off of the center of town near shops and restaurants. Free breakfast at the hotel was delicious (biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs as well as make your own waffles). Air conditioning in room for nice and cold (the only hotel we stayed out over the last week that did). We will definitely stay here again and we highly recommend this hotel and its staff. Well done Wilmington Hampton!

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback regarding your stay. I am very happy to see that we were able to achieve that goal during your stay, and that your experience with us was a pleasant one. As service is the only product that we sell, creating rewarding experiences for our guests is why comments of this kind are a “must share” with the management personnel and entire team. Again, thank you so much for your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back as a return guest in the near future!

My husband and I stayed here for his birthday and we loved it. They made sure we knew the room was properly sanitized and Ethane was most helpful with anything we needed. We enjoyed our stay and loved being close to all of the activities downtown.

This was only our second experience with a Hampton. Its location overrode the lack on on property parking so we booked 2 nights. Coming in from New Bern we arrived about an hour early. We were greeted by Eric who was so happy to see us and got us into our room right away. Nicely done. Eric was full of information about how the parking worked, breakfast and housekeeping. He really knew his hotel and it showed.
Our room was sealed for covid precautions. It was clean, bright and looked new. There were so many USB and power outlets that anywhere you looked you could conveniently power up a device. Their AT&T "hot spot" wifi was hard to use as every time you came back to the room it meant relogging in, but it was strong.
Bed was very comfortable. The front desk gave us anything we needed such as towels and purchased laundry needs.
The later day, overnight and following day staff were all so upbeat. It was a fine stay due to that!
We had one issue, water temp in bathroom. Hard to regulate both sink and shower.
We had a great stay and it would be our destination hotel anytime we get back there!

The property is in need of various repairs given that the exterior of the building had windows wrapped in plastic to prevent water leakage. The hotel did not offer any housekeeping, even though it was noted as available online. It was our responsibility to ask for toilet paper, towels, soap, and garbages to be emptied. Two of the three breakfasts we were present for had no milk, no pastries, and half of the juices out of order. With COVID-19, it is understandable that housekeeping would be adjusted, but rather than an every day occurrence, could we not get once per stay? Or at least have some check in on us to see what we needed?
We booked six weeks in advance and ended up paying double the price through Expedia than what the rate was a week before or during our stay. Paying over $200 a night for this stay was the most outragous price considering zero services were provided. We attempted to communicate with the hotel a week in advance to request a price match, as that is what the Expedia app directed us to do. We heard nothing and then contacted Expedia the day of check in to inquire with them and they told us we were out of luck. Checked with the hotel at check in and they told us it was up to Expedia to address.
The hotel is located on the edge of the historic district, with everything in the area being within a 10 minute walk. I was a bit apprehensive of walking the area in the dark, but there was enough people and traffic around that it was not an issue.
There is what appears to be a homeless encampment across the street and in a parking lot for a neighborhood emergency management/police office. To some, this may be concerning, but we walked by the individuals multiple times a day to get to the parking ramp and never had an issue. We assumed they had permission from the law enforcement office to remain there as there were typically a dozen within the lot.
There is not designated parking lot for the hotel, but they offer valet and a parking ramp is across the street. We always managed to find a spot in the ramp that was either on the first or second floor and the ramp looks to have 24 hour staff. Maximum ramp rate is $8 a day, with first 90 minutes free. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a parking pass from the hotel that was good for 10 free exits from the ramp; this more than covered our adventures for a three-day stay and saved us about $24 in the end.
Good restaurants within walking distance include Front Street Brewery, Fork N Cork, and Slice of Life Pizzeria.

This appears to be a newer hotel but having said that it’s a very impressive Hampton. As a retired “Road Warrior “ Hampton was always my safe haven when traveling to uncharted territory. This hotel is designed for the traveler, finally; USB’S, everywhere, Unbelievable blackout curtains, refrigerator and microwave and a bathroom on par with the $$$$$ hotels. Given Covid restrictions their breakfast was respectable and was tended by a very hardworking and accommodating gal. It’s location is within 6 blocks of a very vibrant area loaded with great restaurants.

What a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Because of business travels we have shopped around historic downtown Wilmington, and without question, the Hampton inn knocks it out of the park. The attention to cleaning, sanitation, and safety is clearly at the forefront. They have a beautiful facility, with restricted access to the pool and gym, both are available for use but with strict guidelines and limitations on capacity. The rooms are generous, have great amenities (fridge and micro are a must in my book) and the staff is willing to accommodate. Can't say enough about the experience we've had there. 100% our hotel of choice in the area, without question.

We really enjoyed the Hampton Inn Downtown Wilmington. It has well appointed bedrooms and common areas and a nice selection of teas and coffees available at your leisure. This made our chilly Valentine's weekend very nice. We didn't take advantage of the valet parking @$18 per day as we were able to locate nearby street parking and the few hours they required meter fees left us paying about $5 total.

Great location, you can walk to many restaurants, stores, and the River Walk. The hotel was very clean, the staff at the front desk was very friendly, and make you feel welcome. The room was very clean, large and the bed are comfortable. The hot breakfast was very good, the lady working in this area "Sheba" was great she was working so hard to keep the food replenished and the area clean. Great person to have onboard. The parking is across the street "public parking", the price was great.
Overall a good hotel.

This hotel is in a great location. You can walk to everything. One of the ladies that worked at the front desk even came outside to waive me down as I was having trouble locating the place. It is definitely Hampton quality. The rooms are very nice and the bed was cozy. The man working the continental breakfast was busy but courteous serving all that wanted hot food. I miss the old way of having continental breakfast but I understand why it has to be served this way! Lastly there is no parking on site you have to pay $8 per day in a parking deck close by. It’s really not a problem since you can unload your luggage in a parking space right in front of the hotel and then move your car. I really enjoyed my stay and appreciated the friendly staff so much. I will definitely stay again.

Amber checked us in and answered all of our question, lending us a bottle opener, giving us cups for our coffee in the morning, and some plastic ones for our wine that night. She was so kind about us coming in late and she even chatted with us in the lobby for a while we waited for our Uber. When we came back there was a drunk guest in the lobby who she handled very well and made us feel very safe. The GM was also very kind and accommodating, helping us get the AAA rate in the morning. Breakfast host was kind and attentive, and the housekeepers kept the hotel spotless. One of the cleanest hotels in the Carolinas, perhaps the cleanest. I will certainly return.

Rough guess. About 12' x 30'. 360 sf
I didn't have my tape measure with me either, but I do count the following as skills:
estimating crowd sizes
estimating the approximate retail price of items on The Price Is Right
estimating hotel room sizes
I believe it was only 2 blocks from the Riverwalk. There was a band and food trucks on the walk the night we were there.
