This was my first stay over at Southport so I'm not familiar with other hotels. This hotel has continental breakfast only (no restaurant) I thought it was expensive but it seems the area supports that. It was $180 for one night, a standard 2 Q room. It was clean and the area felt safe. It was easy to get to and in an area of shopping and some chain restaurants. It's a couple of miles straight down the road to town/water front. My favorite restaurant in Southport is The Port Hole. It's straight towards town on the same road, left hand side, delicious food! I would probably try the Hampton Inn if I stayed again but the reviews for it weren't much better. Sorry I can't be of more help.
