Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came here for dinner without a booking. Restaurant was quiet at time of arrival on a Friday evening. Ordered drinks and grabbed a table. Kids went for a wander and was told off by a male person (Gary) not to go near dam, reason unknown.

Didn't realise that you had to order your meal and collect it yourself from the window, carry your own meals through a crowed bar. Unknown to the process of the buzzer system you collect one meal, take the buzzer back and get it re-set and then wait for the your next meal to come out . Gary was 'informing' me about the process across from the bar and he comes across quiet arrogant. Maybe when taking food orders that the staff inform the quests of the process as we are not mind readers. There was not waitresses and one bar person serving (this one person was under the pump but but friendly). Food was average.

Noticed the owner? Gary and his female off-sider mingling with the guests outside by the fire while drinking, both of them had approx 3-4 drinks during this time we were there. Next you know it they are both behind the bar serving customers, please correct me if wrong that you can't be drinking while serving behind the bar?

The toilets were terrible, not enough for the amount of guests that use it. No paper towel or dryer.

Rude, obnoxious owner, Gary.
Booked a table at the Lake Kimberley Bar and Grill for 7pm got our food at 9.30! No apologies. Food was really not worth the wait. Husbands steak was overcooked, pepper sauce was inedible and the cook obviously had no understanding of the food he was cooking. Fish and chips was terrible. Will not come here again! If you cannot handle a busy night then reduce your menu, get staff, and engage with your customers and let them know what is happening.
Disappointing to say the least!

We had a great stay at white gum, I can't believe some of the reviews here. Gary and Kerry were more than hospitable on our 2 night stay but don't come here if you want to be waited on and have a 5 star experience.
To the reviewers here that think the entry track is corigated, better sell your vans before u go any further up north!!!
The meals were great, the beers cold
I would say that white gum is Gary's man cave, respect that and u will have a great time

Did not enjoy it one bit! The toilet shower facilities were disgusting and hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. The manager Gary was very rude with every interaction that I had with him. The lighting around the cabins and campgrounds leaves a lot to be desired, especially with the terrain - very bit safety hazard. The camp kitchen near the cabins was awful and didn't appear safe or hygienic to use. We were part of a group and the food that was organised was terrible and exorbitantly overpriced for what we got. Do not recommend staying here, unless you are fully self contained/equipped and are only there for the scenery.

Dreadful experience, like many reviews here, Gary the proprietor was arrogant, rude shouldn't be in the hospitality business. We paid for a powered site, but power was cut in the evening, however the restaurant area was lit up like a Xmas tree. No lighting to ablutions. Ablutions were filthy and showers had scum. No covid QR sign in or mask wearing. No signage to reception. Dreadful place.

Just visited White gum for two nights stay. Strange set up with the camping/ caravan park being attached to a recreational air strip.
No signage for a office to check in and pay, you have to call Gary every time you want something. Once Gary was located we soon realised this bloke should not be running a caravan park, very rude, arrogant ,and unhelpful. All we wanted to now is who we should pay and where our booked site was.

There is a 4x4 track out the back paddock that we heard about, we asked if we could use it, $25 per car and use as much as you want for the duration of your stay. Would have be good to have known this when checking in, not on day two.

Ablutions are extremely poorly designed with one single toilet wit, no light switch, three en-suites with toilets and one single shower. This means that if people were using showers then there was one toilet for the whole park to use. All facilities are unisex. The condition of the showers is poor with staining all up the walls, flick mixers falling off the wall and water falls the opposite direction to the drain spilling out over the floor. Multiple times there was no toilet paper and facilities were not cleaned that we saw for the duration of our stay.

Heaps of kids and cheap enough at $25/ night powered but not our cup of tea. Could be a fantastic destination with better facilities and customer service. Getting the little things right really matters.

After much discussion with friends camping at White gum with us we would not bother returning, and will not recommend.

Went there for a long weekend with a group of friends. Really nice property with spacious sites, beautiful views, great restaurant/bar area with a dam that you can swim in. Enjoyable entertainment. What was very disappointing were the toilets and showers. Lots of mold due to poor ventilation and no where near enough facilities for the amount of people they let in. Due to the amount of people (lining up for showers and toilets) the facilities were dirty. Due to this I am not sure if I would stay there again 🤔

Rough road in. No reception/office to register. No clearly marked sites. No maps of the park to find your site. Rent a Donga $50 a night. Powered site $35 Unpowered $30. Yet you are advised not to use major appliances during peak hours due to insufficient . Dirty, mouldy shower block and not enough of them. Not enough toilet paper. Big promotion of the Bar and restaurant, as well as the flight opportunities. York and it's surrounds don't exist it's all about White Gum Farm and spending your money here. Try spending some of that money on maintenance and cleaning for a start !

Interesting place and lots to see. Bit area for 4 wheel drive, airplane flights and walks. Beautiful views from the hill, nice campsite and good quality food- the owner puts a lot of effort in this and some of it is homemade and locally sourced.

Found the owner to be extremely rude and obnoxious! In our opinion, he doesn’t suit the hospitality industry. Came and yelled at me because the grandkids were at the dam. Even went as far as to tell me my grandson was arrogant. Both children were over the age of being allowed to swim by themself, every where else we go. He upset the children so much by yelling at them, and really upset me by the way he spoke to me, that we decided to leave a day early, as it was uncomfortable staying there. I would have understood, if he had come to me nicely, to voice his concerns. There was no need for bullying. I was astounded by his behavior. Showers were so dirty, we decided to go without for two days. Didn’t see any ablutions get cleaned while we were there. Went to one toilet, and there was no toilet paper. That was around 1pm. As a Health Department employee, I’d go as far to say it wouldn’t pass health accreditation. One of the chairs around the dam is hazardous, had holes in it, should be removed. Other than that, Website is very basic and if you do get a reply from an email, it’s very curt. And while this is no fault of Whitegum Farm, beware of the Mozzies, worst we’ve ever been bitten. The only good thing about this place is the four wheel drive track out the back. We should have read other people’s poor reviews before booking.

they do allow dogs, but best to ring and check especially during peak seasons as animals could be restricted then
