We stayed at Suites on Avon in August 2020 and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our room was extra large and beautifully finished. The bed was super comfortable and the ensuite was large with a great shower and water pressure. Each room has private verander access and a seating area. We loved the location as its right in town and we could sit back and watch the world go by and then an easy walk to town for dinner. The hosts, Cheryl and Murry, are friendly and helpful while also respecting your privacy. Cheryl even cooked us lunch when she realised we had not had lunch before arriving!
If you need somehere to stay in York i would highly recommend Suites on Avon.

We booked in for an overnight stay and were pleasantly surprised. We had booked a double room and it was large and comfortable. The ensuite was modern with large shower and great water pressure. The location is ideal - opposite the town hall and a short walk into town for dinner.

This York gem is world class standard. I stayed in the Queen room and couldn't fault it. There was enough room for a sitting/dining area and the kitchen was well equipped which is a rarity. I loved the large bathroom and it's simple decor. High ceilings, stained glass window and a comfy bed. Also with a cute verandah and welcoming hosts, one night wasn't enough.

Due to the COVID Lockdown in Perth, we had to cancel our trip to WA. Despite this happening at short notice, "Cheryl" at Suites on Avon, was very understanding of our situation and had no hesitation in stopping the payment for the Room. She was legally able to charge for 50% of the total cost, but agreed to waive the full amount. Thanks Cheryl for your understanding, and we will definitely be completing our planned itinerary at a future time, and will be in contact then to re-book a Room. Thank you so much !!

Spooky Hall was very well located in the Main Street, and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well supplied with toiletries and a good hair dryer. Stacey, who greeted us was warm and friendly and gave us some helpful advice about where to go and suggestions for dinner. We had a very pleasant overnight stay.

Cheryl was very welcoming and friendly. We had a twin room at back if residence which was quiet and comfy. Our room was clean, smart and the shower was amazing. The king size twin beds were very comfy. A mini fridge, microwave, toaster, glasses, cups plates, kettle and utensils supplied. Tea and coffee and fresh milk was very welcome. Towels were soft and white. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner along with hand sanitizer. Outdoor seating and table on verandah and lovely side private garden for clients. Just very short stroll to town centre, several hotels and eateries 100 metres away. Right spot right in town. We would stay again.

This lovely place is right on the Main Street, so easy to walk to all the local attractions and eating places. It is under new ownership and we really enjoyed our stay, and will certainly be back! The Queen room was spacious and modern. Well equipped kitchen made fixing breakfast a breeze. Even though it is the Main Street, there isn’t really any traffic after dark, so it was nice and quiet. Tea rooms are currently in the works, so that will be a lovely addition when it is ready. York is a great town, and we are already looking forward to our next visit! We will definitely stay here again.

Service was excellent and amenities very good value. Very good aircon in Paris Suite. Warm and cosy very quickly. Cheryl helped us after hours when we had a problem. Nice lady. Dogs and cat very cute and not troublesome. Directly across the street from the very helpful and informative Tourism Info Centre, which is located in the very photogenic Town Hall. Everything we could hope for. Highly recommended.

Easily the best rooms in York. Tastefully appointed and very comfortable with all the needs a stay requires on hand. Mine Hosts Murray and Cheryl are welcoming and helpful in equal measure. Highly recommended.
